Switching To Climate Change

Global warming failed, because the globe isn’t warming fast enough for anyone to notice. Climate change is a preferable term, because it has no metrics and can be applied to any weather pattern. No one can say that the climate isn’t changing, because it changes constantly. No actual science or link to CO2 is necessary.

Scoundrels have been using “climate change” to control the masses for as long as mankind has organized into groups.

  1. Latitude says:

You may have heard that nothing unusual is going on with the weather. That measured changes are less than the margin of error……

…so we decided to call it climate change and describe it as warmcold, wetdry, snowrain, droughtflood

What is you personal opinion regarding whether or not this has been happening?

  2. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

US Navy wants to start Cold Weather Training, hmmm wonder why! The Russian’s are preparing for even colder weather they are not stupid !

  3. Mike Davis says:

Natural weather variability is Climate! Human forced changes are “Climate Change”! I know there is a difference because I read a member of the Chicken Little Brigade say so.
TO set the record straight: Climate is variable over time within natural limits but does not change unless humans “Force Changes” by releasing Nasty Shit into the environment. That is what is meant by “Climate Change” unless you disagree with the term then it shows you are a denier and know nothing about climate because it always
changes. The Goal Posts are movable depending on the conversation and only a “Card Carrying Member” of the Chicken Little Brigade knows were they are at any given time because they are a Mirage to real people!

  4. Alan S. Blue says:

I’d like to see the reverse question asked.

“According to leading climatologist Michael Mann’s seminal work, climate was not, in fact, changing from 1000-1900. Do you agree?”

  5. Heck, I believe in climate change. Climate has always changed.

Good job U of M. Not only does your football team suck so is this study. But it makes you money so go cash the check.

  6. But wait, didn’t it switch to climate change a long time ago?

  7. Andy Weiss says:

Climate is ever changing. Has been for the last 4.5 billion years. Where did people get the crazy idea that climate is carved in stone?

  8. suyts says:

Framing and messaging. They told us that was what the problem is…….so now they’re attempting to frame on a more palatable way. The question was asinine, too. I guess they can’t imagine that many people don’t give this much thought. So when asked, they’d respond like AAM, “of course, climate changes”. But they left off the addendum….. “and who cares?”

  9. suyts says:

More on “many, if not most, don’t give it a thought.”

Those of us, on both sides of the issue, who think about this a lot, consider the questions in an entirely different context than those who don’t.

If, for instance, someone would have asked me back in 1985 if I thought the climate was changing, I would have told them no. But, only in the context that the climate has always changed and nothing has changed about that. Today, I still feel the same way, but, the context of the question has changed, so, if someone would ask me today, if the climate was changing, my answer would be, “Of course its changing. It has always changed.” Both my negative response and my affirmative response mean the same thing. This idiotic poll doesn’t measure this.

I wrote a comment on Curry’s blog about how many people don’t give a rats ass about the climate change debate……… My ego tells me its worth a read if anyone cares to.

Off for more spherical trig and calc lessons on a plane!

    Peace.

    • Mike Mangan says:

You’re doing your homework while flying in a plane? It’s “chagrined”, not “chagrin” as per your Curry comment. 😉

      • suyts says:

Beer is an enemy of spelling and grammar.
Flying is a relative term, but I don’t do it Chapin style…….
And!! My visit with people today confirmed both of my assertions! Most of which is stated in the Curry blog.

I believe less than 20% give a rats ass about this issue. I also affirmed “Climate change” and the “climate changing” means entirely different things to different people.

I questioned people. All that I questioned don’t believe the climate is changing. All the while, they believe the climate constantly changes. Of the people I questioned, 100% were democrats. 5 were union members that wished to take me to task about Wisconsin and Ohio.

Sorry to inform you Steve but they have been changing names around for sometime now and have come full circle.
