2008 : India’s Top Meteorologist Said The Himalayan Glaciers Will All Be Gone Before 2035

Do you have demonstrate that you are a complete moron to get a government climate science job? How many references are required?

And now the Sherpas have garnered some of this expertise as well.

Oh Brother. “Global Warming (insert future-tense verb here)(insert threatened activity/process/cultural festival here)more(insert disasterous adjective here)than before!!!!

  2. Jimbo says:

    Steve,
    Take a look at this:

“Time’s Up: Lack of global warming has falsified the climate computer models”
“According to the NOAA State of the Climate 2008 report, climate computer model simulations show that if observations find that the globe has not warmed for periods of 15 years or more, the climate models predicting man-made warming from CO2 will be falsified at a confidence level of 95%:….”

  3. Jimbo says:

Global warming over the past few decades has devastated the boreal forests. /end sarc.

We have had over 30 years of warming and trees respond by expanding. What further evidence do we need to show that we are dealing with a bunch of delusional gullibles?

“21 March 2011 – Forested areas in Europe, North America, the Caucasus and Central Asia have been increasing steadily, growing by 25 million hectares over the past two decades, the United Nations said today……..”In addition to forest area, the volume of wood in pan-European forests is growing by over 430 million cubic metres every year due to the expansion of the forest area and increases in stock levels,…..””

  4. Tony Duncan says:

    Steve,

Good thing that the IPCC was honest enough to admit it was wrong about this. Too bad other people aren’t willing to admit when they are completely wrong about something.

  5. Sundance says:

Climate astrologers are a protected racket. You can error by over 100% on a future forecast and then receive awards and be praised as a hero and the greatest climate astrologer that ever walked the feverish Earth.

  6. Ooh, tell me more about “The world of fungi” in the sidebar there.
Bound to be more interesting and accurate, but probably not as laughable.

    • suyts says:

lol, no it wouldn’t, but I’ll tell you what is…….. I don’t frequent your site much and hadn’t been there for some time, so, when seeing your “SPASSFABRIK” button and instructions, I dutifully clicked……. lol I’M AT WORK!!!! There should be warning labels!!!! ahahahahahahahaa

  7. AndyW says:

Could still happen, it’s not 2035 yet

    Post again in 2034.

    Andy

    • No it won’t. Not even close.

    • mkelly says:

Andy unless you know the altitude of all the glaciers and then can calculate the lapse rate temperature for each you cannot know if the glaciers will be gone because of global warming.

“When a mass of air is lifted, it cools at the dry adiabatic lapse rate of 5 1/2°F per 1,000 feet…”

At some alttitude it is always below freezing so some glaciers will never melt due to global warming.
