Combet Explains That Higher Taxes Will Fatten Australian Taxpayers Wallets

He thinks that voters are as stupid as he is.

The Federal Government is poised to pledge millions of dollars in sweeteners for Australian households who are facing the possibility of higher bills under the proposed carbon tax.

Climate Change Minister Greg Combet will use a speech at the National Press Club later today to release key details of the proposed compensation for households under the scheme.
He says pensioners and the low-paid will be the priority for compensation and says most families will actually be better off under the plan.

The Government has maintained all revenue from the scheme will be used to compensate households and sensitive industries, and support energy efficiency and new technologies.

“What we’re making clear today is that more than 50 per cent of the carbon price revenue will be used to assist households and that we expect that millions of households will be better off under the carbon price arrangements,” Mr Combet told ABC’s AM.

“Obviously as a Labor Government, we’re concerned to help low and middle income households as much as we can.”

So, let’s get this straight; correct me if I am wrong, please.

An Australian politician, desperate to put her pretty bum in The Chair, makes a deal with the Green Devil, she will bring in a tax on CO2, so she can get the support of the Greens, and squeak through with a one vote majority. She had before the election, however, sworn oto the population of Australia, on a stack of Spiderman comics, that she would NEVER, EVER, institute a tax on CO2.

How am I doing so far, as a North American following Australian politics?

Now, she says she’s going to give all the money back, but only after she has taken it all. And how, pray Juliar, is this going to do the, like, you know, Canute thing of turning back the tides of nature?

You are a lying bitch and will never be anything important again. You have ruined oyur own career. Do you feel good about this? Are you, in a bitch-fit, going to make every other Australian’s life a misery until you lose power this year … as an independant will surely go.

  2. As in all parts of the world, global warming / CO2 tax = wealth redistribution

I’m not surprised at this redistribution of wealth comment from Combet.

I’ve read enough papers, books, and articles that have said there needs to be a redistribution of wealth, both within and among nations. They would also like to transfer our high tech and tech know-how to the rest of the world as well as put in a global government that would manage and ration the world’s resources (and hence, the world’s economies).

One term that they have used for this is ‘contraction and convergence.’ The contraction being a reduction in CO2 emissions and the convergence being the per-capita GDPs of all the world’s nations and an equalization of wealth. The developed countries standard of living will be reduced while the developing world’s standard of living will be raised until they converge. One paper I’ve read said they want to get this done by 2100.

In my view (based on what I’ve read from their sources), they are trying to set up a one world egalitarian socialist green way of living.
