The evidence for climate change grows: The first eight months of 2010 put this year on track to tie 1998 as the hottest year on record, global bleaching is devastating coral reefs and Arctic summer sea ice is reaching new lows.

When you are busy saving the planet, sometimes you have to be willing to enhance the truth a little tiny bit. The circle below shows what a record low looks like during the hottest year ever.

For only the second time in history, a worldwide bleaching event has devastated coral reefs from the Maldives to the Caribbean.

What that ding-dong writer does not point out is that this “Bleaching Outlook” has data only going back to 2008 v2 (the other “bleaching event” year). Now they have v3. wow…

I am sure Romm will be proud.

Hmm, summer ice at a new low…

Maybe if they said something like “the JAXA extent set record minima for the first 19 days of summer” or something like that. At least that’d be true. Instead, we ended up between 2008 and 2009 despite the big El Nino this year…basically putting the ice condition in some sort of limbo where neither “side” can claim victory.

We’ll see where this rapid refreeze puts us. After people were talking about record maximum-to-miminum losses this year (I don’t know if a record was actually set), apparently a high extent maximum is fair game to bring up now.

Growing trend continues. Rapid growth is happening now. The global warming hypothesis is wrong. The PIOMAS graph shows how wrong the global warming hypothesis is. Global warming continues to lose.

Speaking of continued rapid growth, did Igor hit the Baffin Bay bullseye?

Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that when someone’s identified as a premier shit shoveler from way back, to ignore future writings as empty hyperbole.

Does anyone expect mainstream reporters to be competent these days? I am impressed she managed to spell all her words correctly. Beyond that, she only knows what is in the talking points. The age of investigative journalism died 20 years ago.
