If you look closely, you can see heads of lettice popping up through the snow in Nuuk

NUUK, Greenland — Few places on Earth have seen starker changes in weather than this icebound island straddling the Arctic Circle.
The tiny capital of Nuuk is bracing for record numbers of visitors this year; the retreating sea ice means a longer tourist season and more cruise ships from the United States. Hunters are boasting of more and bigger caribou, and the annual cod migration is starting earlier and lasting longer.
In the far south, farmers are trying their hand at an exotic form of agriculture: growing vegetables.
April was the coldest on record in Nuuk.

Nuuk normally is ice free, this year being no exception.

How much do people get paid to make up global warming nonsense for the Washington Post?
I’d always wondered where frozen peas grew 🙂
Way OT Steve…but “Greenlanders” in Greenland do not have it half as bad as the plight of Greenlanders in Denmark, particularly in Århus, .
With the intense media attention pointed to Greenland’s plight, I was having a hard time visualizing just where these Global Warming Threatened cities are exactly in Greenland. I must not have been paying attention in my Greenland Geography class. To remedy this shortcoming, I downloaded a map of Greenland showing the locations of Greenland’s cities and present it here in case anyone else here also failed their Greenland Geography class:

Cool map.
Yes, that is a cool map. Looking at the names of Greenland’s cities, other than Nuuk, Tasiilaq is the only city that rings a bell in my head but ATM I cannot think of a reason why.
A stock piece of alarmist drivel they can trot out from time to time. No one pays the least bit of attention to the facts.
“In the far south, farmers are trying their hand at an exotic form of agriculture: growing vegetables.”
Remember this is the WAPO so they are talking about raising veggies in Florida!
It is still not possible to grow crops in the areas of Greenland where Vikings grew crops. Where there was farmland in that era is now permafrost. The idea that unprecedented warming is happening now is ridiculous.
Viking farm land and farm houses are still locked in ice created in a Little Ice Age that Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming alarmists do not “believe” existed. Starting with the wealthiest CAGW hypocrites & Universities, power cables and public water supplies should be cut.
