Met Office Can’t Forecast The Coming Weekend, Much Less 100 Years

This weekend (3-5 June) will be warm in many places at first, with top temps in the mid to high 20s. But we do expect it to cool down later and into next week.

It was quite hot yesterday, so they can claim they were right. Useless, but right!

Not sure why you’ve posted this. The weather has been exactly as forecasted by the MO. The temperatures for us (in the midlands) were 23.7 and 22.5 on the 3rd and 4th respectively. It is cooler to-day (5th). Further south it was warmer – further north a bit cooler. I’m no great fan of the MO but they weren’t wrong with this forecast.

Then you have been lucky. Here in Sheffield both yesterday and today have been unseasonably cold. Today we have struggled to reach 15C.

Further North the weather has been reven worse.

Although the Met Office can probably claim some accuracy due to the fact that they mentioned ” many places”, I do feel that they are extremely “London biased”. Their headline take on the weather is usually what is happening there where of course the Met is based.

    Why can’t anyone spell ‘Colleen’?

    I thought she was Irish.

I seem to remember reading, in the press, of the UK expecting to “suffer” a heatwave throughout the whole of June. Mind you, every week, according to the press, the following fortnight is going to break records and be hotter than Greenland (sorry, Morocco…).

  6. BTW…we’ve had for Sunday an entire day, night and early Monday morning of considerable rain in SE London, so the Met Office forecast can be officially declared WRONG.
