Heard On Animal Planet

I was just watching Animal Planet and heard this remarkable statement – quoted exactly.

An increasingly small population of Polar Bears. Only 25,000 are left in the world.

    You are writing them, no?

Then there’s this that shows the experts are FOS….. http://kestencgreen.com/polarbears.pdf

How many did they think there was before? Ah yes, how could one expect Animal Planet to know anything about animals.

Unfortunately David Attenborough, whom I used to admire greatly, has swallowed the AGW koolaid. Hopefully he’ll live long enough to recant.

Being in the US, you probably got Sigourney Weaver narrating it.
Shame on Planet Earth’s producers for spewing this propaganda, but shame also on Animal Planet for regurgitating it.

I suggest they transport a few pairs down to the Antarctic. With the availability of vast amounts of food, they will prosper into hundreds of thousands.
We can worry about the penguins at some later stage.

“At the same time, the report cited an American scientist who told the group that a research team had used a collar to track a polar bear that swam for more than 650 kilometers across the sea. “He described the extensive spatial data recovered from one particular collar that showed the bear swimming more than 650 km in the Beaufort Sea,” said the report.”

      That is one big swim!

  6. Thirty years from now, in the face of a 250,000-strong polar bear population, people will come here to argue that “increasingly small” really meant “small but increasing”…

lol, prolly. I don’t think these whack jobs understand things necessary about animal populations. We’ve got 25,000 because that’s what the area supports. Any more and we’re going to have huge problems. Polar bears aren’t cuddly versions of black bears, they’ve been known to actively hunt and track man.

Anyone that’s ever seen one while spending time up there (camping, walking, etc.) should be very wary. SOB’s scared the hell out of me, and I ain’t scart of nuthin!!

My last research showed over 1000 bears a year are hunted. Hunting is threatening the bears. Period. Nothing else.

While watching Andrew Zimmern eat Bizzare Foods in Brazil, he stated that global warming was causing a reduction in the fish population in the waters off Rio deJanario (sp). The waters he said are getting warmer and killing the fish.

The media have bestowed upon themselves the right (if not duty) to make Sh1+ up, lie by omission, and selectively report information if it serves the cause of making the little people do what they deem is best for the little people.
