  1. Andy WeissDC says:

In this economy, it is doubful that there are many summer jobs out there. The kids better get used to lying around, doing drugs and taking in the toxic smog. That will be good experience for their future life of likely unemployment, once the Government make work jobs dry up.

  2. Anything is possible says:

Joe Romm is the most joyless prick that God ever put breath into.

    Like what….
There’s mold, pollen, etc out there…..
….and the moron doesn’t know that it’s common for CO2 levels to be ~2000 ppm in a building.

Contagious diseases are spread faster during school time than during vacation due to children being confined indoors. As with most of what Joey talks about he got it backwards.

It’s the physical exertion that worsens the effects of smog. Also, elderly people are advised to go inside when smog levels are high.

Ill Wind: I will actually agree with you on this one (I think). As a high school teacher I can tell you that indoor air quality in schools is not very good. The physical environment itself is very dusty and dirty.

  4. Curt says:

As pollution levels have declined dramatically over the last generation in the US, asthma incidence among children has increased dramatically. You don’t even have the correlation/causation mashup excuse…
