Steve, It may be useful, from time to time, to show how it isn’t just HadCrut that is showing the decline. In fact, currently, RSS is in almost complete agreement with HadCrut.

Do not discount it so fast! If you are down under, then the line is going up! Right Oz-mates? 😉
I have commented before that both UAH and RSS seem to have higher peaks and troughs than HADCRUT. In other words the satellites seem to be more sensitive to El Nino and La Nina changes than HADCRUT.
It is interesting that over the decade the overall trend is similar.
However expect this year for HADCRUT to show warmer than the sats.
The other interesting thing is that GISS go colder in May which is the opposite to what UAH show. Has Homer been on holiday and therefore not been available to fiddle the numbers?
Satellite temps are measured at 14,000 feet, and are more sensitive warming/cooling oceans.
