Tuesday, 21 December 2010Professor Slingo, who is in charge of Britain’s biggest research team investigating climate change, insisted that global warming was a reality despite the bitterly cold temperatures and heavy snowfalls that have brought much of the country to a standstill.
“This is not a global event; it is very much confined to the UK and Western Europe and if you look over at Greenland, for example, you see that it’s exceptionally warm there,” she said.
I can’t say I blame her for not noticing it was cold in the Americas. After all, she did not have any noogeys to leave in cancun.
Well, this is consistent with the awarding of prizes to the most incompetent.

Now, Slingo!! Apparently, while public servants usually avoid reality, for females anyway, she’s one of the best!!!
Oh sure, there’s plenty more examples, Merkel for instance, she’d be a close second, but then what of our reality avoiding female public servants in the U.S.?

It would appear that a prerequisite to get any sort of undeserved award these days, is to be a complete and utter numpty.
She should slingo her hook, the Met Office is now an international joke, and totally unfit for purpose. Get rid, save us a fortune and employ someone sensible instead. I nominate a Bastardi/Corbyn partnership – you couldn’t go far wrong with that. But Slingo? You’re having a laugh…

I don’t know why because I did not use any of the words “useless” “lying” ” Slingo” or “woman”.
Well I did mention “Slingo”, but I could not avoid that.
Apparently in Slingo’s world, North America and Asia don’t exist. Nor does Australia. Just goes to show that it pays to go with the flow.
