The news on 10 June 2010 that there was free cannabis to people in Nuuk was misleading, according to Press Council
On 9 June had a newspaper AG news on the back of that 118 kg hashish was burned over a week at the incinerator. The news was brought in news since Sermitsiaq.AG following day in a shortened version, which meant that the story was misleading.
The news on Sermitsiaq.AG on 10 June 2010 said there was free marijuana for everyone in Nuuk from Thursday and probably a week or so forth, and the hashish was available absolutely free – and perfectly legal. In an order on 3 April 2011, the Press Council ruled that the information is not correct information.
– When Sermitsiaq.AG adds to the surprising announcement comes from drug group leader is also not the correct information because he does not have voted that way. The Press Council therefore finds that Sermitsiaq.AG has violated the ethical rules for point A, 1 requiring the media to bring the correct information, writes The Press Council in its ruling.
The news, which brings Sermitsiaq.AG correcting for, was edited on as soon as the police complained to the media house, so it was not misleading more. The Chief of Police, who have complained to the Press Council.
