RIO DE JANEIRO, June 21 (Xinhua) — Carlo Rubbia, who shared the 1984 Nobel Prize in physics, says global warming is a much bigger problem than most people realize. “My message is that the situation is much worse than one sees and believes,” Rubbia, an Italian particle physicist and inventor, told Xinhua in an interview on the sidelines of the U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20 Earth Summit). Rubbia mentioned two “contradictory phenomena” — global warming and the aerosol masking effect which effectively offset the effects of the former.
Otherwise, the temperature of the Earth would have increased to about three degrees centigrade by now, he said. “The man in the street does not realize the effects of climate change,” because in the last 10 years, the temperature did not increase substantially. So “people feel the pressure of global warming is not a reality,” he said.

In other words, this guy has some invention he wants to sell – but needs to make a few government officials extremely stupid before he can close the sale.
One even days, we are told that the global cooling scare was due to aerosols which we subsequently cleaned up. On odd days, we are told that we didn’t clean up the aerosols, and they are 10 times worse than we thought.
I believe it’s thorium reactors he’s marketing about.

It’s Spiritual. The effects of Climate Change can only be felt by those with souls, which is why animals, oceans, rocks, and RehugliKKcans can’t tell it’s getting worse.

Everyone is entitled to a perspective or an opinion. What I think is also needed here, though, is some data to support his claim. If he doesn’t have the data he should make it clear that he is speculating.
