Solving The Climate Crisis

If everyone in America was forced to purchase a Chevy Volt, we could end hurricanes, tornadoes, hot weather, cold weather, floods and drought.

Actually, no forcing is needed. Since about half of Americans are convinced that CACC is already hitting the fan, those 10^8 or so folks should voluntarily follow their beliefs and abstain from fossil fuel use, abstain from any food or products that are not locally produced, and abstain from any products that contain fossil fuel ingredients.

CO2 emissions in the US would drop by at least 50% overnight, energy prices would plummet, and the climate would be healed.

I don’t understand why the faithful are making this so complicated.

    • Kaboom says:

Because they think someone else should cut back so they don’t have to.

      • Eric Barnes says:

Yep. It’s all about keeping they money flow for federal bureaucrats and politicians.
Taxes don’t sell anymore so you get wonderful legislation like cap and trade and obamacare. Great care is taken to make sure new revenue is not called a tax.
Some on the supreme court have the courage to call this type of legislation a tax, but as a whole the supreme court doesn’t have the backbone to require that the legislative branch is honest.
        Sad.

  2. Andy DC says:

If we did what is really needed to reduce CO2 significantly, the dislocation, inconvenience and expense for the average person would be back breaking. Our whole way of life would be basically destroyed. Yet we would still have hurricanes, droughts, floods, etc.

  3. johnmcguire says:

Ah , you guys quit complaining and follow the will of your masters. I f this doesn’t start widespread civil disobedience then I give up on the American people.

  4. dmmcmah says:

    Don’t give Obama new ideas.

  5. tckev says:

But Steve you can’t drive through the forest in a Chevy Volt – it’s prone to catching fire.
    Oh no, more forest fires.

    Oops that should be –
More devastating forest blazes catastrophically destroying forest homes because of manmade global climate warming disaster.

  6. Sundance says:

Obama is probably wishing that he threw a Volt mandate into Obamacare now. I’m sure the Supremes would still see it as a legal tax.

  7. Sundance says:

Many eco extremists were suggesting on the internet sites today that we could have prevented the forest fires by switching to wind power. I think this is a brilliant idea as long as all Americans start living in tents so that we are able to move our domiciles when necessary. I think if we can get Californians in say Berverly Hills or the politicians in Sacremento to pilot living in tents it will ctach on big time. The tents would help reduce electricity use too because capacity would be scaled back a wee bit, maybe 85% or or more and Califormia could easily hit their emissions reductions targets.

    • Redwood forests show burn scars going back thousands of years. Perhaps Folsom Man should have used wind power?

We may well be experiencing the stupidest generation in human history.

  8. Kaboom says:

If the ecos cared about the forests they’d have show up by now, bucket in hand.

  9. Eric Simpson says:

    There is NO cliimate crisis…
My hotair comment: The warmist theory is unambiguously fabricated trumped up ideologically motivated bull-hockey!
Yes, the hockey stick graph, which was a product of a radical agenda-driven Berkeley graduate (Mann), has been debunked. That means that current temps are not unusual in any way, and, frankly, that there is nothing wrong with the climate. There is no problem.
What’s more, CO2 arguably has nothing to do with the climate. Nothing, nada, zilch. The whole GWarming theory was founded on a false and now refuted ipcc claim of a causal correlation between CO2 & temperatures; 98% of the public doesn’t know this, and they can learn it, though, by viewing just this 3 minute video that calls out algor for repeating the ipcc deception on CO2. Watch it, link to it (like I am doing here), and share it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK_WyvfcJyg

If everyone was forced to buy a Chevy Volt, it might end weather altogether thereby ending climate change. Ya think?

  11. I think you also need to change your light bulbs and buy a Chevy Volt.

  12. gofer says:

There’s only a 32F difference in high and low in Mid-TN today. CO2 “trapping” just can’t keep up. A lot of energy is getting by those little boogers. Without the trapping, we might have to pull out the blankets. The low is “weather” and the high is “climate.” Amazing how cool 70 feels after hitting 102.

So far Steve, so far! If the cretins continue to breed with one another they shall begat even more stupid cretins. It’s dysgenesis, plain and writ large. Ah, but what to do about it? Some suggest spending more on education, but first the cretins have to want to learn. Do you see signs of that?

  14. David says:

According to Hansen we already solved the climate crisis, as temperatures are below his best case “C” senario.

  15. I did this analysis based on UK costs. You would need to run the Volt for 440, 000 miles to break even.
