Had Michael Mann’s Ancestors Been In Galveston 112 Years Ago …

On September 8, 1900 a giant hurricane hit Galveston Island with 145 MPH winds and killed more than 10,000 people.

Had any of Mann’s direct ancestors been there at the time, we wouldn’t have to listen to his bullcrap about hurricanes getting worse.

I’m sure someone else would be one of the key “leaders” in his place though.

    Speaking of Mann’s Leftist Ancestors…
Tom Nelson noted that Mann said “its not hard to imagine basements full of individuals financed by Koch-funded front groups whose job it is to post climate change disinformation and smears to newsgroups, blog comments, and news article threads.”
In response, I commented: This type of quote by Mann demonstrates the leftist ideology that motivates this hockey stick fabricator. Previously I’d heard him described as a liberal activist type, but other than the fact that he graduated from Berkeley, I hadn’t seen a lot of evidence for this. The quote shows the truth, Mann is a leftist ideologue… masquerading as an impartial scientist!
Anonymous then added: Mann’s parents are socialists.
That would be just like Obama! My question is, is this true? And, what other evidence do we have of Mann’s leftist inclinations. This is important because if we establish the indisputable ideological motivations of the top warmists, this will seriously compromise their credibility as unbiased scientists.

They must be socialists. You can’t raise a child who would believe we can control nature without yourselves being driven by the need to control.

      • Richard T. Fowler says:

Left, you have it backward. CAGW is a hoax. A hoax devised by socialists (many of them, I believe, in communist countries) who know quite well that we cannot control climate to the degree that they have said we can. A hoax sold to both capitalists and to so-called “useful idiots” in the freer countries, many of whom happen to be liberal or socialist.

A hoax having as its primary purpose the destabilization and de-industrialization of capitalist countries for political reasons.

I don’t know if Mann is a socialist; I haven’t looked into it. I do know that he hid a certain decline with intent to deceive, and I am reasonably convinced that when he intentionally hid his R2 verification statistic from public knowledge, that he did so with intent to deceive. But I don’t see how we can assert that his parents are responsible for this behavior. If his behavior has been rooted partly in fear due to false beliefs about Earth’s climate, rather than resulting entirely from an intent to deceive, then it seems he could have been led astray by others, rather than by whoever raised him.

      Hi RTF–

Completely agree. I guess my point would be, whether Mann believes it to be a hoax or not, control is their primary tool to achieve a successful hoax. Right in line with a socialist mindset.

  3. Richard T. Fowler says:

Chill out, Steven. Today, most people do not esteem others based on who their ancestors were or what they did or didn’t do. Likewise, we shouldn’t assume that a person’s faults are in any way attributable to ancestors of his of whom we know nothing.

Besides, as Scott wrote in a comment above mine, there would be someone else if there were no Mann, so it makes no difference if Mann had not been born. Don’t we have enough to be upset about?

It is depressing that every time there is a natural disaster, in a time of sorrow with people hurting, we have to be subjected to an annoying cacophony of alarmists, squealing together like a bunch of stuck pigs.
