You really can’t make this stuff up.

I’m going to start a business selling carbon-free CO2.

😆 Next Gleick err someone will be making or claiming low carb organic water! errrr something.

  2. Myron Mesecke says:

I just emailed them telling them I was waiting for carbon free carbonated beverages.

  3. Jason Calley says:

“Carbon Free” sugar… the mind boggles with the sheer inanity. I have come to the conclusion that accuracy of speech counts for little with the CAGW crowd. They call CO2 “carbon” as if they were the same. They call skeptics “climate deniers,” as if we reject the abstract concept of climate. And, of course, they refer to Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming as “climate change”, as if climate never changed and therefore any moderately rare event proves CAGW.

You can’t reason with people who are deliberately ambiguous (or worse) in their speech.

    • kirkmyers says:

All very good points, Jason. There would be no plant or animal life on planet earth without CO2. It is the sustenance of life.

Earth is now CO2 undernourished. Levels have been many times higher in the geologic past. Agricultural production would increase dramatically if CO2 levels were two three times current levels. Given that fact, perhaps we should be giving awards to companies that pump more CO2 into the atmosphere.

By the way, the belief that rising CO2 levels will lead to runaway global warming is a theory that has been falsified many times. There’s no evidence that human-induced CO2, which constitutes 0.117 percent of the so-called atmospheric greenhouse effect, is responsible for the alleged 0.6 percent rise in temperature during the past century.

Water vapor is responsible for 95 percent of the greenhouse gases. But, unlike man-made CO2, it can’t be taxed. CO2 is a convenient bogeyman, because of its potential for scaring taxpayers into handing over more of their hard-earned money.

  4. Brian G Valentine says:

David Appell, you there? Does garbage like this make you sick, or not?

They are doing this to combat “global warming,” does it matter what kind of idiotic shit it is?

  5. gator69 says:

    A carbon free life form!

  6. Bob Koss says:

Maybe you can open a branch office of your business in this British designed architectural wonder under construction in China.

Get your carbon-free charcoal right here….

  8. Sparks says:

Check this out, I found this in The kingfisher Children’s Encyclopedia from 1991, note the cooling towers and the “Carbon dioxide layer”.

  9. Andy DC says:

Maybe you should sell carbon free air to pump up your bicycle tires.

  10. Josualdo says:

Wow. But I also read somewhere than Brazilian ethanol, when burning, produced less CO2 than other ethanols.

“(Most Western environmentalists) have never experienced the physical sensation of hunger. They do their lobbying from comfortable office suites in Washington or Brussels. If they lived just one month amid the misery of the developing world, as I have for 50 years, they’d be crying out for tractors and fertilizer and irrigation canals and be outraged that fashionable elitists in wealthy nations were trying to deny them these things.” – Norman Borlaug

  12. gofer says:

“…because the sugar cane plant converts sunlight to energy more efficiently than any other major crop.”

Seems if they left out something, like CO2. It should read, “Sugar, brought to you by carbon (CO2) and sunlight.”

  13. gofer says:

This how stupid they think people are since they have to explain:

“Is it the same sugar? Will it function the same way in my recipes?

Yes, it is still 100% pure cane sugar with 15 calories per teaspoon. And, it functions just like all Domino® Pure Cane Granulated Sugar”.

add another company that i won’t buy from

  15. John B., M.D. says:

One molecule of sucrose has 12 atoms of carbon.

Carbon Free 18 year old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey…
Ummm, might just be a winner!

  17. Andy OZ says:

Carbon Free sugar must be made from Silicon.
I’m now convinced the next crusade will be against SiO2.
It’s being produced by uncontrolled human activity.
Mining companies keep digging it up.
How more and more of it is changing the sea levels.
    It absorbs the suns heat.
And it changes the wave action at our beaches.
California is one of the biggest users of Silicon.
Bring on the Silicon Tax to save the planet!

  18. Shooter says:

That really can’t be possible – because carbon is the backbone of EVERY LIVING THING. Carbohydrates have carbon. If they didn’t, oh, I don’t know, THEY COULDN’T FORM MOLECULAR BONDS WITH OTHER MOLECULES. DO THESE PEOPLE STUDY CHEMISTRY, OR WHAT?!

  19. “Imagine there’s no carbon
    It’s easy if you try”

  20. Dave Smith says:

I would suggest renaming the element “carbon” as “fluffybunnysoftyfuzzy”. That way we can emit as much fluffybunnysoftyfuzzydioxide we want without a shred of guilt.
