Antarctica currently has the most sea ice ever recorded for the date, which is 17,000 Manhattans larger than the greatest amount of sea ice ever recorded in the Arctic. Most geographers actually consider the southern hemisphere to be part of the globe.
In 2007, Wadhams made the identical prediction for 2012/2013. Perhaps he is facing the final collapse of his funding?

Since I started writing this post, six new Manhattans of ice have formed in the Arctic.
If you have enough icebreakers, Arctic storms and fraudulent satellite readings, the Arctic ice can be anything you want it to be.
More frightening still, is the knowledge that Peter Wadhams is employed by (or worse still, was trained by) our premier naval institute. It makes me fearful of the integrity, credibility and intelligence of the rest of the military trained scientists (and perhaps officers . . . . .)
He is actually a professor at Cambridge, which at one time was considered a great academic institution.

We should have had an ice-free Arctic this year as he said that “2013 is already too conservative.” FAIL and FAIL next summer. As for ‘global disaster’ why would an ice-free Arctic be a global disaster? It hasn’t been a disaster in the past

Sadly this is likely true. Religions carry on for centuiries.
I would refer to the AGW scam more as a cult than a religion. True religions are open and honest, willing to debate, be mocked and criticised (except Islam of course) but persuade rather than insult and ridicule. AGW is secretive (e.g. Mike Mann), intolerant and disingenuous at best.
The mother ship will return in exactly twelve years from today between midnight and noon. If it doesn’t happen, add twelve more years to the prediction. Rinse and repeat until the mother ship actually does arrive. Then you can claim you are an infallible prophet. All you have to do is forget the many times your prophecy failed to come true.
Interestingly, the ability to forget predictions that don’t come true seems to be a major value these days – especially when it comes to weather and climate. It is worth $Billions piled upon $Billions to far too many people and institutions.

The AGW alarmists will peddle their pet theory until the bitter end — or until the weather turns bitterly cold, making it impossible to defend the indefensible without looking like delusional crackpots. (It may be too late to avoid such appearances.)
The Warmists already are circling the wagons and smearing anyone who questions the AGW doctrine. There are huge sums of money at stake, and there are reputations and egos that are threatened. Expect to see even more vitriol and nastiness as the “climate change” scare story comes apart at the seams.
The science is on the side of the skeptics, and the climate modelers know it.

There is already much thought to resolving this problem: Scientist: “I’m concerned that the stars are using up hydrogen nuclei at an unsustainable rate.
