Yes, you should be concerned that the White House is working feverishly to destroy the Bill of Rights. It was created to protect us from the federal government.

The Bill of Rights is the collective name for the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. These limitations serve to protect the natural rights of liberty and property. They guarantee a number of personal freedoms, limit the government’s power in judicial and other proceedings, and reserve some powers to the states and the public.

The amendments were introduced by James Madison to the 1st United States Congress as a series of legislative articles. They were adopted by the House of Representatives on August 21, 1789, formally proposed by joint resolution of Congress on September 25, 1789, and came into effect as Constitutional Amendments on December 15, 1791, through the process of ratification by three-fourths of the States.

The Bill of Rights plays a key role in American law and government, and remains a vital symbol of the freedoms and culture of the nation.

Obama is not upholding his oath of office. He views the Bill Of Rights (and the American people) as being impediments to his agenda.

I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The Insane Left will not admit it does not know how to attack the real problems in America–such as violence in the racial gang subcultures, primarily black and latino (and, in the mass murders, actually insane individuals, whom a lazy, selfish, and already disintegrating society refuses to recognize until it is too late)–and thinks that by hamstringing law-abiding people it can get at the barbarians who respect no law. This is a very ancient, tyrannical mindset, that history has always shown is ineffective in the long run, and only leads to quicker disintegration of an already deeply troubled society.

    The United Stated was indeed founded to protect natural rights, but three were most often cited: life, liberty, and property. Jefferson changed property to read “pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration of Independence to remove any perceived connection to slavery. Why the editors of Wikipedia leave out life here is probably obvious.

    Wrong. All (not just some) other rights are reserved for the states and the people (not public).
    The ninth amendment:

    The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

    The tenth amendment:

    The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

    If I had the time, or were in the mood for an edit war, I would try to fix the Wikipedia page. Instead I just refuse to use it as a credible source.
