Puffington Host : Climate Scientist Admits That Nothing Has Changed For 20 Years

“We are taking the fight to them because we are… tired of taking the hits,” Scott Mandia, professor of physical sciences at Suffolk County Community College in New York, told the Chicago Tribune. “The notion that truth will prevail is not working. The truth has been out there for the past two decades, and nothing has changed.”

Exactly. Nothing has changed. That is why no one is listening to you.

  1. The notion that truth will prevail is not working.

Yes! It is working. That’s why they’re losing—the truth is prevailing.

Uh oh, Steve, I suspect someone may show up soon and say your headline is misleading, then go on with a big explanation about what the scientist meant about nothing had changed – um, that is, the truth hadn’t changed, . .umm, no wait . . . um er . . . OK, change, that’s it yes, um . . change . . change is good . . .vote for change . . NO, WAIT, not that . . uhh,,, that’s not what I said or meant to say . .
    AAAAAAAAAHHHHH ! ! ! ! ! !

    . . sorry, just couldn’t resist . . . . hope it brings a chuckle to everyone . . !

      It did, thanks!

Yep, and it is right nothing has changed, the science has just gotten more certain and the misinformation from those who deny it more sophisticated.

Sorry but what you just wrote is a complete contradiction. You do realize that if something has “gotten more” than it has in fact changed (“more” is an “increase”)?

      • Mike Davis says:

        John:
You seem to misunderstand. No change really means change. More certain really means increased uncertainty. Settled science means they don’t know what they are talking about. Consensus means no one can find a point to agree about!

      • Mike Davis says:

I forgot to add that in climatology 2500 experts refers to less than 100 who claim expertise and 2400 faithful believers, if that many. It is hard to keep track of whose on first!

John, do not confuse the religious zealots with facts. They get violent!

It isn’t a contradiction because you are not talking about the same ‘more’ as I, just as Steve is not talking about the same ‘Changed’ as Scott Mandia.

I agree with you that things are more certain and that that is a change. However nothing has changed because as Mandia alludes, the truth of climate change remains.

  3. This is a form of a Kinsley gaffe, accidentially saying the truth.

  4. suyts says:

That’s a mean looking group of hombres! That is a hoot! I think Mandia is the one in the middle!

  5. Speaking of politics

whoever it was that started this practice in motion needs to be questioned before Congress and brought to shame before the American people:

It upsets some but there is a reason.
The Terrorists actually won because they achieved their goals. Put fear i the minds of the citizens. Now we need to fight back against the ECO terrorists such as Al Gore.

  6. OT, but on a post from yesterday:

The premiere of TLC’s Sarah Palin’s Alaska last night drew 5 million viewers to become the most watched series premiere ever on the cable network.

And the meaning of is is? I nominate you for New Speak award winner of 2010! More is not change, more is not more. Up is down and down is up! Any MORE meaningless statements you care to make?
