Just two years ago, America had seemingly lost all of its self-respect. Thanks to Sarah Palin and the Tea Party – the country is making a strong comeback from near brain-death. Joe Romm reports some excellent news :
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Good to see I live in one of the blue states! Amazing how political ideology trumps actual science. Just like with evolution.

Amazing how political ideology trumps actual science.
so you do understand the foundations of CAGW
lol, evil republicans!
Tony, the politicians are simply reflecting the will of their constituents. The science has been exposed to being advocacy. There isn’t any “actual science” that proclaims CAGW or whatever the name de jour is. You could prove me wrong by giving me the falsifiable statement necessary for the scientific method to be employed. It was smoke and mirrors, a puff of air, a hoax, a scam, a wealth redistribution scheme. I know its hard to admit you’ve been scammed. Many people are embarrassed by getting scammed, so much so, they won’t report the crime. Sorry man, just let it go. Its good for the soul.
I have given numerous falsifiable statements, but I am not an expert, and there are plenty of sources that give much better explanations. Those just are never examined here. You are all too busy lsapping yourselves on the back congratulations yourselves on how much smarter you are than those stupid experts. BTW that is a strong sign of a cult.
I am playing by your rules. it is steven’s blog and I respond to things I know something about or feel I can have fun with. I notice the places where there is no response, but don’t bother to press my points beyond where you guys will take it. And since I really don’t care about changing anyones mind and I am quite willing to admit mistakes, I await the imminent demise of ACC theory, and the rehabilitation of the entire scientific edifice by the real experts, like Steven and Mike. Seriously if you guys turn out to be right. I will apologize and laud your efforts as much as any one.
If you are wrong I hope your relatives are honest about what you have done here, like I am about mine. My great uncle was a reporter for the NYT in the 30’s. He was in Russia and was an apologist for Stalin. covered the show trials as if they were real. Thought that Kamanev, Zinoviev, and Bhukarin might be capitalist terrorists who orchestrated the murder of Kirov.
TonyD:
I do not reply to all your claims because I do spend time doing other things. You seem to just repeat over and over your claims about predictions that have been made to support ACC.
First you need to define your vision of ACC!!!!
Anthropogenic Climate Change!!!!
This can describe creating a Green House the control a micro climate in which to grow food.
ACC can be seen in a hotel a or a mult acre amusement park. Biosphere 2 was an example of ACC. Even a house or my Chicken Coop represents ACC as I built the coop as a climate controlled area for my chickens.
What is your version of ACC?
Are you claiming CACC? Which would be Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change.
The predictions I have seen come from you are better explained by a combination of natural occurring factors without Human induced GHGs even being considered because those events or conditions are within the historic natural extents and do not even approach extremes that have been experienced in the global records.
Find a specific prediction and forward it to Steven then we can dedicate a thread to your prediction.
Sure you’ve given many falsifiable statements, but none that articulate the CAGW theory. In fact, I’ve never seen the theory fully articulated, falsifiable or not. Tony, believe it or not, I spend most of my time reading. Posting here, isn’t something that occupies much of my time. Nor do I imagine many here simply staring at their monitors and refreshing the pages on RS, just waiting for a chance write a nod of approval. I’m not interested in any lauding or apologies. Simply a step back from this insanity. And a general understanding of what this is really about.
If you need just one example of what this is about, how about changing food stuffs to a less efficient, more expensive form of motorized fuel. Or consider hydrogen engines have had working models for several decades, yet it is never considered as viable alternative energy source. Or that the solutions of the alleged problems always involve a tax on production. We’re worried about CO2 emissions but we haven’t built any nuke plants, really? Ahh….so much more to say, but Tony, do yourself a favor and simply ask “why”? As we go along, I’ll bring up more issues from different perspectives. Correlation/causation, and why warmists selectively apply that bit of errant logic, and stuff like that.
Suyts,
actually what I see is you and others here selectively apply errant logic. It may come as a shock to you but climate scientists aren’t a homogenous group. They do not all believe the same thing. There is quite a bit of debate and a large amount of skepticism about all sorts of issues. it is a quite dynamic field because it is so complicated.
and then you prat on about hydrogen engines, and I assume ethanol. Clearly both environmentalist conspiracies. Al gore probably has the plans for the perfect hydrogen infrastructure locked in a safe, and no environmentalist is allowed to talk about hydrogen. And the alarmist whackos who dreamed up the ethanol debacle in order to starve children in Africa. had nothing to do with corn farmers and politicians who represent them.
They generally get funded from the same sources
The message here … fool me no more.
at least it is in VT where I live. But Vermonters have always been a lot harder to fool than the rest of the country. You actually have to prove stuff to them.
TonyD:
It seems people in VT are among the Sheeple and Puppets of the country.
You are just fooling your self!
Vermont voted in a socialist listed as a socialist on the ballot. Somehow I don’t see it in your favor as a state versus being fooled when you voted in a communist willingly and happily. If not fooled just fools.
please tell me you’re getting more traffic than joe romm. please, steven?
in spite of what tony says, i love vermont. i mean, it was its own country for awhile. and they have ‘right to carry’. so at least tony can feel safe knowing all his friends and neighbors are armed.
plus, being the blog’s resident progressive-hippie-libertine, i love all those vermont hippie girls.
that’s a laugh. progressive, Hippie, libertine.
I challenged someone to guess my views on politics and social issues before, I was not taken up on that.
Peter, please tell me my views on abortion, 2nd amendment, homosexuality, recreational drug use, free enterprise, limited government, the welfare state or education. As I offered before, get one right, and I will be shocked and apologize for having doubted you insightfullness, get three right and I will immediately announce my allegiance to whatever anti ACC stance Steven has at any particular moment.
And unless you are into Gorillaz, Florence and the Machine, Deerhoof, Godspeed you Black Emperor, or one of the rather obscenely named bands some of them like, none of the really hot chics here will give you the time of day.
sorry to offend you tony, i meant I am the blogs resident progressive-hippie-libertine. i may even be a pagan!
i suspect a lot of folks on here hold ‘mixed’ political views.
because there is no consistent political discourse in this country!
My bad.
But you still won’t get any where with the young hippie woman here, unless you at LEAST like Modest Mouse or The Kings of Leon. REM won’t cut it anymore.
I am not as convinced that there is a very wide range of political opinion here.
