Shock News : Obama Lied About Marriage

Obama ran on a platform that marriage is between a man and a woman, sanctified by God.

“What I believe is that marriage is between a man and a woman … What I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it’s not simply the two persons who are meeting,”

– Barack Obama

Turns out he was just lying to get elected.

Thanks, Steven, for documenting the lies behind our crumbling Orwellian government

It is collapsing in plain view. Those who believed the lies are only now becoming frightened of the benevolent dictator they worshipped before.

There is no chance this facade can be restored: “Pride goeth before the fall.”

  2. gator69 says:

Governments should have nothing to do with marriage, it is a religious sacrament. If they want to give out Civil Unions, fine, but a marriage is a religious ‘rite’ and not a ‘right’ of citizenship.

    Problem solved.

    • terrence says:

You are FAR too sensible, gator69, FAR TOO SENSIBLE. Politician will never go along with such a sensible idea.

    • Justa Joe says:

I get where you’re going with that, but marriage is also a legal contract, which is important for civil matters in our patrilineal system so the govt is involved to a degree.

      • gator69 says:

        No, you don’t.

If you and your partner(s) want the legal protections, tax benefits or any other perk, all one would need to do is petition the government for a “Civil Union”.

Why is this so hard for some people to understand?

        • Latitude says:

I thought marriage was a two step process…
          court house for civil union….
you can stop at that point

church of your choice for the religious thing

Where radical gays blew it…was trying to force religions to change…
…there’s plenty of gay churches….get the paperwork…and get married in a gay church

normal gays just go on about their business and don’t pay any attention to this crap

        • gator69 says:

The “state” issues a “marriage license”, and this is part of the problem. Marriage and Civil Unions should only commingle if the intimately involved parties wish it.

What ever happened to the “separation of church and state”? How come leftists never ask this when we discuss marriage? Because they wish to destroy it, and we are assisting them by not pointing out the obvious.

        • Latitude says:

          damn good point!!!!

        • Justa Joe says:

Dude, I don’t have any partners. I’m married with children, and I’m not a proponent of so-called gay marriage. Actually I’m against gay marriage. I find the idea of two (or more) men being married together to be an absurd mockery. I’m not even for “civil unions” because as I predicted it would lead to the mess that we have today.Still what I previously posted is accurate. Also gay “marriage” is outside the domain of the patrilineal family.

        • gator69 says:

Joe, I understand what you are saying. I am a struggling Christisn as welk as a firm Libertarian, and working to solve a problem. Your religious and personal beliefs should not be thrust upon others, according to our founding documents. We are not a democracy, we are a representative republic, and have a bill of rights for a reason.

Our Creator gave us free will. Who are you?

I’m sorry, but if you do not get Liberty, then we will talk in circles forever, and I do not have time for that.

        • gator69 says:

My iPhone has mutinied, or is channeling a drunken alien. Either way, I think my point was made.

          All the best!

  5. Marc says:

If marriage is a religious sacrament, then why does government have ANYTHING to do with it (i.e. any state or federal tax benefits)? State marriages are CIVIL, by definition; the state has no business deciding on religious matters and vice versa. Nobody is asking religious to recognize civil marriages… sheesh.

    • Blade says:

If marriage is a religious sacrament, then why does government have ANYTHING to do with it (i.e. any state or federal tax benefits)?

That’s almost a sensible question from you considering some of the things you wrote here. “Government” need not be involved at all, but as I said below, “Government” is actually a synonym for “People” ( lots of people in a “democracy”, fewer in authoritarian regimes ), and if you bothered to study anything that the wise men that founded America warned of you would already know that people are fallible, extremely fallible. They cannot help themselves. We seem to have some gene similar to ants and bees that manifests itself as instinctual need for leaders, regulation and worse. People get on power trips and their actions lead to precedents and more precedents like the classic game of telephone and after a period of time the end is no longer recognizable.

People in Government wanted to offer benefits like tax breaks for mortgages, and in return they receive votes and pats on the back. It’s one of the oldest trades in existence. Remove all this nonsense and “Government” would have no business in marriage whatsoever. as it should be. Now don’t play coy here because everyone knows that these bogus “benefits” were the first target of the gay mafia. It was the vehicle used to invade and degrade this concept that is almost as old as mankind itself.

State marriages are CIVIL, by definition; the state has no business deciding on religious matters and vice versa.

Yet the “State” cannot keep its hands off of religious matters now can it? And this is precisely what the gay mafia capitalized on. People like you that pay lip service to this abomination would have been sincere if you had either lobbied for removal of all marriage “benefits” or at least promoted a civil partnership (which keeps the institution of marriage protected) of some sort. What you have wrought instead will be realized by your kids and grandkids, and their kids and grandkids …

      http://conservativebyte.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Gay-Marriage-Question.jpg

… which is not only inevitable now but perfectly logical.

Nobody is asking religious to recognize civil marriages… sheesh.

If you were honest you would have written …

Nobody is asking religious to recognize civil marriages… yet.

… correct? You know full well the churches will be under attack after this insane ruling.

I know that cognitive dissonance is a tough thing to deal with. Human beings have an extraordinarily difficult time admitting they are mistaken, moreso today than ever before I think. I guess I’ll just ask something simple: Will you draw any lines for morality? Is there any concept of right and wrong? Is there anything that you will say that “Government” should leave alone?

Guess what, it’s probably too late now to draw any bright lines. This is thanks to all the enablers of a wildly mutating and decadent “Government” that dwarfs anything King George had in mind and far exceeds everything the Founders warned about.

  6. gofer says:

That was before he found out gays had money and if they could form another democrat victim group, they could siphon that money right into the dem coffers. It’s always about the money.

  7. Blade says:

Marriage is not an institution created by the state, therefore the state can not redefine it. It existed since the dawn of man and predates all governments. It takes quite a narcissistic God-complex to step into this territory. Not to mention it is illogical to create a “group”, call them homos, whose only membership criteria is that one says they are a member. That’s just plain insane.

Reagan’s worst mistake: Kennedy. Bush 43’s worst mistake: Roberts. That Borking fiasco, in which Biden was a prime culprit, is still costing us dearly.

And it gets worse. Everything the leftist traitors are accomplishing now is without the benefit of a clear majority on that court. If we lose one of the three good guys: Thomas, Scalia, Alito, the Second Amendment is dead, followed by America herself.

We need to stop blaming the politicians though. There would be no traitors in the District of Criminals without the civilian traitors that walk into the voting booths on election day. So, if a civil war erupts it can only be won outside of DC, and it can only end when civilian traitors can no longer send their proxies to DC.

  8. Marc says:

I guess if you believe that the earth was created 6,000 years ago, then maybe it’s been around since the “dawn of man”. “Marriage” is just a word; religions clearly define it differently (viz differences in attitudes toward divorce, polygamy, etc.) Government can also choose to define it any way it chooses; at this point, for purposes of the federal government, it’s defined to be whatever an individual state allows (states rights, and all that), and grants certain benefits based on that status. Since there’s no state religion here, the various governments have no requirement to pay attention to your particular interpretation of the word. Now, if this were Iran, you’d have more of a point – is that the way you want to go?

    • Chewer says:

it all comes down to freedom of speech and the majority rule.
Gays fall into the “freaks of nature” category and most like me don’t care about their engagements, but get a bit sick thinking about the abomination of equality (a severe minority among society with the loudest voices get what they demand) through rock star backers, Hollywood stars and the least productive/most onerous in society, which includes the MSM and special interest groups and progressive talking heads.

    • Blade says:

I guess if you believe that the earth was created 6,000 years ago, then maybe it’s been around since the “dawn of man”.

Ummm, WTF is that supposed to mean? Who said anything about Earth? “Dawn of Man” means exactly that, since humans. Don’t drag your religious stereotyping in here ( you obviously equate “religion” with a 6,000 year old Earth ). It shows you are just as bigoted as those you believe wrong about gay marriage.

      “Marriage” is just a word

Marriage is NOT just a word. How can it be a word since it predates almost all languages? It is an institution, a state of affairs, a relationship, a description, and it has meant one thing uniformly for thousands of years, a wedded man and woman.

… religions clearly define it differently …

Religions do not define it differently. You are a liar making crap up to justify something you know is a historical aberration which wouldn’t even be dared during past decadent periods during Greek and Roman and other times.

Government can also choose to define it any way it chooses…

Government is nothing because it is not a thing. Human beings make up a “Government”. Lots of people in democracy, or fewer in authoritarian models. But it is people that make these decisions, including huge mistakes like this one. Furthermore, using your words, “Government” can just as idiotically redefine me as white or hispanic, or as a woman, but it does not make it so. “Government” used to define me as property, but again, it doesn’t make it so.

I have some helpful advice for you. Learn something about the double-edge sword of rejoicing over perceived “Government” victories because a Government that has been bestowed the power ( by jackasses like you ) to grant you a favor that you consider legitimate also has been by definition been bestowed the power to yank that favor away – and you must consider that equally legitimate. This is the classic Pyrrhic victory as it clearly illustrates the depths of depravity willing to be plummed by leftist swine.

Now, if this were Iran, you’d have more of a point – is that the way you want to go?

What a wonderful logical fallacy! “if you were in xxx”. The fact however is that “xxx” actually means any and all places anywhere during any and all time periods since the “Dawn of Man”. You probably could not select a more durable and unchallengeable constant than marriage.

I wonder if you can even see what your mental condition has wrought. You have normalized men marrying men and women marrying women in your mind. You have constructed an inverse reality to rationalize this, where in your world everyone except the USA and Iran are abnormal.

If this were a Harvard Law class I would imagine we are in the middle of the classic devil’s advocate exercise of defending Hitler, which is the only time it makes any sense to reverse all logic and common sense.

I got you pegged as a narcissistic lefty, a “What’s in it for me?” voter who has zero concern for the ramifications for anyone else, today or in the future. Just how long can society survive with people like you involved?

  9. gofer says:

Marriage between a man a woman is the most consistent belief that has endured all societies, religions, dicatorships, govts and various beliefs of peoples from secluded tribes to the modern society. A man/man marriage is an attack on reason. Calling another man, your wife is, well, weird.

It just shows how slimey politicians are because they have no principles. The principles “evolve” to suit whatever benefits them at the moment. We just keep sinking.
