Maybe an atomic powered canoe with wings might do it.
If you read Goldberg’s headlines you would believe it’s already done.
A row boat expedition to the arctic made possible by climate change. (Except it hasn’t been done – careful use of words to imply otherwise)
http://stevengoddard.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/screenhunter_346-jun-26-15-23.jpg
It’s all about lies and perception. By the time they fail in their luxury yacht with oars attached, the MSM will be on about some other climate bs.
Why do these warmist fanatics-turned adventurers continue to demonstrate their lunacy by trying to navigate the frozen arctic by canoe? Don’t they realize that the current arctic sea ice extent is the most expansive its been in more than a decade? These people have been hopelessly brainwashed by the unscientific and much-refuted AGW balderdash. They can’t bring themselves to admit that their pet theory is a crock of bovine excrement.
They have a computer modeled ice free map.
In answer to the question, these greenfleecing exhibitionists will have no choice but to cheat.
Quitting or cheating? Neither.
They will never quit cheating.
π
According to the Law, you can’t hold an idiot responsible for his or hers actions, lying and cheating included. Maybe they get lost.
idiots today must be growing on trees. Here is another one: http://oilprice.com/Interviews/Melting-Ice-Freezing-Fossil-Fuels-Ambitions-Interview-with-Fen-Montaigne.html#top
excuse 1,2,3,4……bears, wind, temp, ice….oh, and the boat developed a leak which could not be fixed…they will come thick and fast…
The boat develops a leak after hitting the Titanic iceberg..
..or from being dragged across the solid ice blocking their path for hundreds of miles.. or the rocks on the shore..
..or gets smashed up after falling from the helicopter they’re cheating with..
We were overheating with all the rowing in the Arctic tropical climate.
With any luck the Polar Bears will get them as they drag their canoe across the ice!
This is a bit fancier than a canoe, and slightly higher tech than Amundsen…
“Boat Shape: Unlike traditional rowboats, the rowing vessel is built with the latest in rowing technology. The team will have two watertight cabins β one is for sleeping and the other is for gear and food.
Rowing Position: The seats slide on tracks in the center of the boat. A cable attached to one of the foot pedals runs through the rear cabin and hooks into the rudder, allowing the team to steer as they row.
Food and Water: The team will use a desalinator which will convert 400-pounds of salt water into the 24 liters of drinking water the crew will need every day. Also, the team will eat at least 5,000 calories of dehydrated food, energy bars, and trail mix each day.
Communication: The boatβs instruments are powered by solar panels mounted above the cabins. These solar panels will charge batteries which connect to a VHF radio, GPS, and navigation system. The team will jam out to an iPod for music and use a laptop to track the weather, update a blog, and tweet.
In case of emergency: Ensuring safety to the crew is paramount. The cold conditions add an additional level of complexity because exposure to the water is not survivable for a long period of time like other warm climates. In order to minimize these cold weather dangers the team will be harnessed to the boat at all times.
Additionally, a life raft, grab bag, and survival suit are on board to use at any point. In such a situation, theteam would activate an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) to provide the boatβs coordinates to rescue coordination centers. Furthermore, the Ocean Rowing Society is on call on behalf of the rower during the ocean phases.
A unique, computer-based, voluntary global ship reporting system called AMVER is used worldwide by search and rescue authorities to arrange for assistance to persons in distress at sea. With AMVER, rescue coordinators can identify participating ships in the area of distress and divert the best-suited ship or ships to respond.”

Amundsen had no ‘get out of ice free’ card either. These guys are thrill seekers, who found a con to fund their joy ride.
Gator, you posted a link that has nothing to do with the row of the North West Passage

Sorry, I tried to google info on your buddies, and this is what came up. To quote a hag, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Ice melts. Stopped hyperventilating yet? π
“Ice melts.”
That is the first correct thing I’ve seen you post.

It’s the first post you have understood man crush boy! π
I’ll try and stick to one syllable (sorry) words from now on. π
Did you view the video?
Any comment regarding the 80 percent decline in the Arctic sea ice volume?
Nobody measures sea ice volume. PIOMAS is a garbage computer model.
If PIOMAS was correct, the ice would be gone already.
http://tamino.wordpress.com/2013/02/20/cryosat-2-confirms-stunning-arctic-ice-loss/
That explains the 10 year high in Arctic ice extent!

If you keep screaming, maybe you can melt all that ice.
370 million a year in government funding for research into “climate” at nerc? What a scam. That’s more than the annual Australian Bureau of Meteorology budget!!!!
Yep!
“NERC is a non-departmental public body. We receive around Β£370 million of annual funding from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).”

Steve, please tell what is your policy regarding posting relevant links?
You stated nobody was measuring volume and I posted four links that showed the it was now being measured by satellite and that it has been confirmed that volume has indeed declined. Although the satellite shows slightly higher volumes, the rate of decline measured by the satellite is very close to the rate of decline shown by .PIOMAS.
Feel free to delete the posts, I apologize if my links violated your posting policy
Do you believe that ice extent or volume should increase every year?
I posted this link for you….what’s your opinion on it?
http://stevengoddard.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/screenhunter_707-apr-25-06-06.jpg?w=640&h=491&h=491
“Do you believe that ice extent or volume should increase every year?”
I believe that if the climate wasn’t changing, the ice extent and volume would remain static when measured over a period of decades. Year to year, it can vary up and down, there are many factors besides temperature that can affect ice.
What has been observed since 1979 is that the overall trend in volume and extent has definitely been downwards on a steep decline.
I really can’t comment about your link because it is just a graph and there was no link to the post it icame from.
top right bottom of this page….right above the search bar….Tracking Climate Fraud
…you do realize it can’t increase forever…..that in order to increase, it has to decrease at some point
Reggie says: “I believe that if the climate wasnβt changing, the ice extent and volume would remain static when measured over a period of decades.”
If you really believe that you are not equipped to discuss this subject with any degree of scientific integrity. It is no wonder you are on this blog making the incredibly narrow-minded comments you are. Do you know what an ice age is? What an interglacial period is? Or do really believe ice volume should be static? Do you believe the climate was static before the industrial revolution?
amazing, isn’t it
Glacierman, please explain to me why what I wrote is wrong. Be sure to use facts from the reality based universe.
http://www.foresight.org/nanodot/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/histo4.png
Reggie says: “Glacierman, please explain to me why what I wrote is wrong. Be sure to use facts from the reality based universe.”
What you wrote is that without climate change ice volume would remain static. You either don’t know, or are purposely lying about the historical facts of the history of the Earth. Ice volumes have never remained static. Either you don’t understand Earth Science (a dupe) or are here to propagandize (a useful idiot). Either way you are not worth talking to.
Save the stupid comments about the reality based universe. All I did was quote you and ask if you had any scientific knowledge or Earth history. You have shown your hand.
Son, you need to go to a local community college and take a remedial reading course.
I wrote that in a time period that was in decades sea ice levels would remain static. Why do you believe that is incorrect?
I hope you realize that ice ages are indeed caused by climate change. Climate change can also be caused by natural factors such as Milankovitch cycles.
Your backtracking won’t work. Your tactics are well understood. They may work on people who don’t have some understanding of Earth processes. Why don’t you go find some low-information readers to propogandize as you are out of your leauge as evidence by your own words.
“I hope you realize that ice ages are indeed caused by climate change.” π
Ice ages ARE climate change, just like interglacials, like the current lovely period in which we currently reside. “Climate change” is not a driver, it is a result.
Climate change is as natural as melting Arctic ice you stooge. π
There was no backtracking, you need help with your reading skills.
Please explain why in your personal alternative version of reality, you believe I backtracked.

=====
Reggie…..you yourself are only talking about 3 decades
temperatures go up and down faster than that…..why wouldn’t sea ice?
http://www.foresight.org/nanodot/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/histo5.png
.Latitude says: “you yourself are only talking about 3 decades”
Correct, what part of” ice extent and volume would remain static when measured over a period of decades” didn’t you understand?
Are there any posters here that are able to comprehend simple English?
Ice will only change extent and volume when other factors change first. Ice amount is the result of other climatic factors.
There in’t much science being posted here in the comment section by the regular posters, now I can see why so few come here to comment
Latitude, why did you bother posting a graph that didn’t have labels?….WTF!
I completely understand what you said….”decades”….you’re only talking 3
…can you comprehend that?
It’s ice cores from Greenland….I thought you would at least know what it is
What do ice cores from Greenland have to do with Arctic Sea Ice extent and volume?
You are comparing apples and oranges.
ok, now that I know you don’t have a clue what you’re looking at
This is a ice core from Greenland….It shows the temporary up tics…with the overall trend being down
You can add a 1/2 degree to the end….

Lat, his inspiration is Idiocracy, and he probably thinks it was a documentary about Obama’s plan for America. Forward! π
Anyone who gets excited about melting ice is likely holding a drool cup under their chin.
Has Reggie not heard of the PDO, AMO and other ocean cycles of durations considerably longer than the satellite record of Arctic ice coverage (starting in 1979). Is Reggie aware that a chart in AR1 showed satellite coverage of Arctic ice back to 1973. This AR1 chart showed Arctic ice increasing from 1973 to a maximum in 1979 from whence the downward trend so beloved by alarmists manifested itself. Hence the cherry picked truncation of the satellite record prior to 1979. We wouldn’t want any hint of the cyclical nature of climate to detract from the message.
yea but Robert, 1979 was a fluke…..the rest of the record shows we’re prefectly normal
http://stevengoddard.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/screenhunter_707-apr-25-06-06.jpg?w=640&h=491&h=491
BTW, where’s Reggie!
Reggie thinks that ice never melted before, and he is very, very excited. π
or that it only increases…..so stupid to not know it has to decrease at some point…in order to increase again
I note with interest that this map indicates that on the 26th of June 2013, sea ice was still observed in James Bay as far south as about the 52nd parallel, and within 250 nautical miles, as the crow flies, of the shore of Lake Superior.
And that James Bay sea ice extends south to a point that is less than 150 nautical miles due north of the parallel which intersects the northernmost point of Lake Superior.
The ice also appears to be <400 n. mi. from the State of New York. On the 26th day of June.
RTF
Well, I looked at my globe and that last measurement is close to 500 n. mi. Still….
