  1. Leon Brozyna says:

Voluntary? At the point of a gun?

  2. I just wonder if one day some of those promoting this nonsense will wake up to the fact that it is nonsense!

The basic idea is to take developed agricultural land out of production in order to allow the native vegetation (of which Australia is most generously endowed in any event!) to grow back in order to produce an Arcadian Wilderness so beloved of the inner-city chardonnay-sipping ‘green’ types!

One wonders what might happen if it ever dawns on them that with the reduced agricultural areas there will be reduced agricultural production which will mean, in turn, food quantities will reduce, which will mean – of course – that prices will go up.

    Brilliant!

Mind you, the consolation prize will be the creation of yet more government bureaucracy to regulate and supervise all of this, including travelling – as has been demonstrated recently by our very own Department of Climate Change whose mandarins have been racking up considerable travel expenses – to attractive overseas destinations in order to ‘save the planet’. And First Class all the way, of course!

I’m sure your average Aussie taxpayer would be delighted to know this ….
