He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness

We are still alive. Because of that, we CAN do something about the situation we find ourselves in. Maybe not much by each but every little bit helps.
Considering the first recorded shot by the “progressives” was by Kant (1724–1804) who laid the ground work for the post modern era of anti-mind, anti-life, and anti-reality. The “progressives” have spent over 200 years and have extinguished hundreds of millions of lives to accomplish their goal of total negation of everything human and have not quite done it.
In that same interval, living men of mind dedicated to the understanding of reality and living in it, built the modern world by creating the scientific revolution, the industrial revolution, and a technological civilization that spanned much of the globe. Along the way, they established the first nation founded on the idea that men own themselves and that government was their servant rather than master. The idea spread in one form or another to other nations. There was and is a causal connection between the idea, its spread, and what followed.
None of this was easy nor thought likely of success at the beginning but something very good came out of it. This in spite of the vast forces of opposition at every step along the way. This is how we know a return to and advancement beyond is possible. It happened once and it can happen again.
Remember these simple founding ideas:
You exist as an individual who owns his life and its products. By the ownership of your life, you also have the right to action based upon your best interests. YOUR happiness is your purpose. You have no undeniable obligation to others except not to violate their individual rights as you expect them not to violate yours. So also every other individual on earth.
Society, a nation, the collective, the gang, the tribe have no existence beyond the individuals who agree to belong. As such, the group has no right beyond the rights of each individual member of the group. The group has no right to own what is owned by another. In this context it means no right to slaves.
The only way to violate the rights of individuals is by the initiation of force or fraud against them.
Any individual or group of individuals who initiate force or fraud have thereby lost all claim to their rights being recognized and may be dealt with by any means necessary by their victims and all other rights respecting individuals.
If we can establish and sustain at least this much, the rest is much easier.
Yes, but how do we get this knowledge back in our public schools? Americans are getting dumber by the year.

Home schooling is not the public school system, and not the problem.
Home schooling is part of the solution. We just might be able to educate the next cohort of teachers for the private schools that will be necessary to replace the public schools. The public school system is the problem BECAUSE it is The Public School System who’s content, methods, and purpose is determined by an unaccountable government and financed with funds extorted from property owners by government force. Something created by the violation of individual rights cannot do any thing but violate still more individual rights.
Consider the state of public education today. Add to that the current plan to include advanced and graduate education under the same government “free education” umbrella. Public education mostly is and will continue to become nothing but indoctrination day camps. It will not free but will be paid for out of the hides of anyone who still has a mind capable of creating wealth.
The graduates from public education are becoming less and less willing and able to do anything of value for themselves or others. Far too many are unable to create enough wealth to pay off even their student loans. This will not end well but it will end because when the last producer of wealth is consumed there will be nothing left to sustain the current system. Especially since government created “new” money has no value when there are no actual producers of wealth around to give it value. There will be nothing left for it to buy and no one left to create anything worth buying even at the point of the government’s gun.
Our challenge is either to change the system before it collapses or be able to survive until after the collapse. At my current age it is unlikely I can survive a collapse. Thus I am doing what I can to motivate a change in the system. However, no matter what the system will be changed because the current path cannot be sustained.
Home schoolers make up about 3% of the population, we need to reach the OTHER 97% by abolishing the Dept of Ed. Otherwise it is all over for those who cherish individual liberty.
I agree with you on that. However, if by some miracle we could abolish the Department of Education tomorrow, we would still be stuck with the current cohort of teachers with their pathological ideas, methods, and practices. Were are we going to get the hundreds of thousands of teachers who are equipped to offer an objective reality based education? The students need to be taught how to learn, how to think, how to communicate, and how to compute. From that, they can learn everything else they need to know to be functional adults. The bulk of our current teaching core only knows to teach how to pass tests, what to think, what you can or cannot say, and little of anything about actual mathematics.
Teachers must teach the curriculum they are given. Put those decisions back in the hands of the local communities. Problem solved.
I have been a teacher. One teaches according to one’s fundamental ideas. You teach the subject you are “supposed” to teach but your fundamental ideas come out in how you teach. I was an Aristotelian from the get go. I taught Physics, Chemistry, and Math accordingly by teaching how to learn the subject, how to think with the subject, and how to apply the experimental process to learning. As a consequence, I was not allowed to continue in the teaching profession. Partly because of the built it poverty and partly because of an antithetical environment.
Unfortunately, most teachers are Kantian to the core. They teach that one cannot really know anything as it is but can only teach the collective authoritative consensus of what things are said to be. Rather than teach rote learning, they teach that any opinion about anything is as good as any other opinion. That is except that reality exist, it can be known, and the mind is capable of using reason to know it.
As a consequence of a century of such intellectual pestilence, we have a “community organizer” as a president who believes if he says it, it is true simply because HE said it. Since he is THE president, he believes can apply enough boots on enough necks, enough guns to enough heads, enough threats of superior violence, put enough bodies in enough morgues, and he can get his way about anything. The worship of bruit force is the ultimate end of Kant’s teachings. Sadly, far to many Americans believe the same things.
We have a huge educational effort ahead of us to make it otherwise.

Sorry no. One’s life path is determined by the fundamental ideas you hold inside you. What ever they are, they come through loud and clear no matter what. Inflection. Choice of phrasing. Points of special attention. Way of doing things. It cannot be faked. At least not long enough to make a difference.

I know this may be difficult for those who are used to tenure and unions to understand, but that is what life is like for the rest if us.

No you couldn’t fire me. On the first interview I would be able to determine you are a power and control obsessive and would refuse any job offer. Your top down power and control approach will fail every time you try to use it. Especially for all situations requiring an adaptive response. Which, by the way, ALL situations require sooner or later.

Home schooling is not the answer for our nation, fixing public education is.
You can’t fix public education as long as its public. Sell it to the highest bidder and privatize it totally. Get the government out of the business of controlling the education of our citizens all to gather. The problem with public education is that it IS public!
You are getting warmer! Give education back to the local communities. If NYC and LA want to teach Sex Ed to fifth graders, and CAGW to all, let them. Just allow the rest of us to decide that math and science are the best path forward and allow the free market to work as God intended. It ain’t rocket science. 😉
