the MBH (Mann Bradley Hughes) camp have a fundamental dislike for the very concept of the MWP, so I tend to view their evaluations as starting out from a somewhat biased perspective, i.e. the cup is not only “half-empty”; it is demonstrably “broken”.
I just don’t want to get into an open critique of the Esper data because it would just add fuel to the MBH attack squad. They tend to work in their own somewhat agenda-filled ways. We should also work on this stuff on our own, but I do not think that we have an agenda per se, other than trying to objectively understand what is going on.

The “1940’s blip” wrecked global warming theory, so climate scientists made it disappear, through a series of repeated data tamperings.

This wrecked global warming theory, so the scientists massively altered the data again.
Climate science has been corrupted by a small handful of individuals, who have repeatedly and blatantly corrupted the temperature record to achieve political objectives.
Arctic sea ice is on almost the identical trajectory as 2006, the year with the highest minimum of the past decade.
Scientists have been predicting an ice-free Arctic for almost 100 years.

Fifteen years ago, climate experts said that snow is a thing of the past. Since then, Northern Hemisphere snow cover has soared to record levels.
What this tells us is that cold air is intruding further south during the snow season. It also tells us that Tom Karl at NOAA is lying about global temperatures.
Normally by this date, about 20% of the Greenland ice sheet is melting. This year only about 5%, which is the slowest on record.
The capital of Greenland is still buried in snow on June 7.
Not surprisingly, temperatures there continue to be the coldest on record in 2015

Particularly interesting are June temperatures, which have plummeted to record low levels over the past three years.
Government experts say that Greenland is melting down, because they are paid to produce propaganda for the White House, not do actual science.
Arctic sea ice continues to track 2006, the year with the highest summer extent of the past decade.
Ice thickness is also the highest it has been since 2006.
The world’s top climate prophets say that the Arctic has been ice-free since 2013.

We do not have direct measurements of the global mean anomaly, rather we have a large database of raw measurements at individual locations over a long period of time, but with an uneven spatial distribution, many missing data points, and a large number of non-climatic biases varying in time and space.
