Scientists are making lots of news recently by blaming Antarctic ice shelf melting on your SUV. Only problem is that this has been going on for centuries.
Facts generally don’t matter to climate scientists.

The Arctic warmed six degrees from 1900 to 1940, and the ice was the same thickness as today.

Claims that Arctic warming are “unprecedented” are made by the same fraudsters who rewrite the past.

Like all temperature data sets, the past has been cooled at UAH, which creates the appearance of warming.
As of 1995, UAH closely matched NOAA radiosonde temperatures and showed no warming after 1979. The graph below is from the 1995 IPCC report
The thick line is UAH, and the thinner line is radiosonde. They were almost a perfect match, with zero warming.
The next graph is the current version of UAH vs. NOAA radiosonde. UAH now shows about 0.4C warming since 1979, about three times as much warming as the radiosonde data.
The next graph shows how the 1979-1995 UAH data has changed since 1995, turning a cooling trend into a warming trend.
UAH has also cooled the past in the US since their 2001 version, having cooled the very warm year of 1995 by almost 0.3C. That year was the year without a winter in the US.
UAH US temperatures diverge sharply from measured US temperatures, warming about 0.3C more since 1979 than the raw surface data.
I don’t see any reason to believe any of the temperature data sets, except for the ones I can process myself from raw data. The US has seen no warming since 1920.
The fraudsters at The Guardian claim that this was Europe’s hottest year ever, due to “greenhouse gas emissions.” Only problem is – it wasn’t hot this year in Europe.
Europe’s record hot year made at least 35 times more likely by climate change, say scientists | Environment | The Guardian
The average maximum temperature in France this summer was just above average, and the frequency of hot days was below average.
The morons at the Guardian live in Europe. They didn’t notice that it wasn’t hot? Perhaps they consider mild winter temperatures to be “hot.”
Check out the latest from the crooks at NOAA
Instead of talking about the return to just below the post-1979 mean, they spin an event from last summer.
But it is much worse than it seems. NOAA claims that the satellite record began in 1979, but IPCC FAR and SAR said that NOAA has satellite data back to 1973 – when extent was much lower than 1979.
These dishonest government agencies are a cancer on our nation.
Successful technology firms hire people to find things wrong with their product. These individuals are rewarded for finding things that are wrong, and fired for not finding them. Verification people have completely different motivations and a different set of objectives from developers.
By contrast, academic research is a disaster, because they rely on pal-review. Everyone has basically the same objectives, and rely on the same sources of income. This guarantees that no serious problem will ever be found which could threaten the broad base of funding.
When I hear people using the terms “peer-review” and “climate science” in the same sentence, I feel like busting out laughing. It is a joke.
As of 1995, neither NOAA radiosonde nor NASA satellites showed any post 1958 warming. Graph below is from the 1995 IPCC report.
Since 1996, there has also been no global warming.
Apparently all global warming occurred during 1995.
In 1922, the poles and glaciers were rapidly melting – and people were happy about it.
The ice fringes of both poles are retreating. Even during the comparatively short space of time that the Antarctic has been visited by man the, ice has retired some 40 miles. So let us cheer up.

Since the end of October, Arctic sea ice extent has been at a 10 year high almost every day.
