Warmer and wetter: Maps reveal how global warming could lead to warmers and wetter temperatures across America
Maps were created to show how temperatures has changed since 1970 in all US regionsSince 1970, the average winter temperature in the continental U.S. has warmed by 2.4°
Findings come amid prediction that 2014 is likely to be warmest on record
Maps reveal how global warming will affect winter temperatures across America | Daily Mail Online
Heidi shows peak warming in Minnesota since 1970. Besides the fact that the warming numbers Climate Central used are completely fraudulent, Heidi cherry-picked one of the coldest periods on record to start her analysis. Last winter was the 4th coldest on record in Minnesota, and Lake Superior blew away their record for springtime ice.
For the US as a whole, winter temperatures have been plummeting for 15 years, and are no warmer than 1970. Starting a trend line at the bottom of a cyclical function is malfeasance.
Winter snow coverage has been increasing in North America, due to the snow line pushing further south – due to cold air. The past decade has seen the furthest south snow line on record.
Heidi and Climate Central are defrauding the public with their intentionally deceptive maps and analyses. Winter temperatures in the US are plummeting, not increasing.
How energy reforms will make it easier to slow global warming
December 10 at 8:00 AM
This month marks the opening of a year-long marathon of meetings focused on slowing global warming. The starting gun sounded with the summit that just began in Lima; late next year, the finish line appears when governments are expected to adopt new climate accords in Paris.
The hard truth in all this is that governments have been doing a terrible job with global warming. The last successful climate marathon was run in 1997 when governments adopted the Kyoto Protocol; since then, emissions of the gases that cause warming have risen by one-third.
How energy reforms will make it easier to slow global warming – The Washington Post
There has been no warming since Kyoto in 1997. Our government and journalists are complete morons.
I figured out who has been messing with my computer while I was gone.
He weighs 16 pounds and looks a lot like Dorothy’s companion. Apparently likes to walk on the keyboard.
The US generates 13% of global CO2. If we reduced emissions by 20%, that would cut us down to about 10% of current global emissions.
However, Obama agreed to let China increase their emissions for the next 16 years. At China’s current growth rates, there will be a huge increase in global CO2 emissions, which will place any US reductions in the noise.
The reason that China agreed to it, is because it puts American industry at a competitive disadvantage due to increased fuel costs. It was a win-win for China. They do nothing, while Obama shoots the US in the foot.
Gavin shows 1.5C Northern Hemisphere surface temperature warming, which he accomplished using a couple of tricks. Yesterday I showed how he shifted the baseline and cooled the past for pre-1969 temperatures, which gave him an extra 0.3C of imaginary warming.
This is the actual comparison, without the baseline shift.
Now lets look at the tricks he uses since 1969. He shows a huge discontinuity at the PDO shift of 1977, which does appear in Alaska, but does not appear in the US, Greenland or European temperature records.
I created a complete 1880-2013 Northern Hemisphere land temperature record by merging and normalizing temperatures from 1975 NAS (1880-1969), NOAA Angell (1970-1979) and UAH (1979-2013) Note that the NOAA data does not show a discontinuity at 1977.
As you can see, the actual amount of warming from 1880 to 2013 is a little more than half of what Gavin shows. This analysis is conservative, because UAH tends to show too much warming.
It is just a coincidence that Feinstein decided to release her CIA assault on the day that Gruber testified.

Arctic ice conditions are “extremely ordinary”

Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings tore into MIT professor and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber on Tuesday for his remarks on American voters and the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee made GOP chairman Darrell Issa’s opening statement sound tame by comparison.
“As far as I can tell, we are here today to beat up on Jonathan Gruber for stupid — I mean absolutely stupid — comments he made over the last few years,” he began, staring angrily at the hapless professor.
In other words, they are skapegoating Gruber for what all the Democrats did.
While appearing on Sunday’s edition of ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., admitted Democrats in the Senate knew Obama lied when he said Americans could keep their insurance
“So were you misled?” Raddatz asked in a follow-up.
“No,” Gillibrand said. “We all knew.”
