As of 1975, the world’s top scientists saw no warming from 1900 through 1970. The National Academy of Sciences generated the graph below in 1975.

The hockey stick was upside down, which made the team unhappy. They wanted to get rid of that unpleasant “blip” around 1940, which left their pet theory in shambles.

It would be good to remove at least part of the 1940s blip, but we are still left with “why the blip”.

So they did just that. They removed the 1940s blip, as well as all that unpleasant post-1940’s cooling. The animation below shows how the data has been changed since 1975.

At the time, there wasn’t any question about global cooling, so our friends at NASA and NCDC simply rewrote history.

In 1999, NASA GISS showed about half a degree warming since the middle of the 19th century

Gavin accomplished this remarkable feat by progressively cooling the years prior to 1967, warming the post 1967 years, and disappearing the warm years prior to 1880.

If the present refuses to get warmer, then the past must become cooler.

Last week the Guardian said that global warming makes European winters cold and snowy. This week they say that global warming makes European winters warm and devoid of snow.

By the end of the century, some scientists predict Utah will no longer be a skiing destination, because global warming will prevent snow from falling and in turn will affect the ski industry.
