This year marks the 30th anniversary of Red Dawn, a Patrick Swayze movie where communists invade Colorado and use the gun registry to try to round up the guns and resistance. Similar to what Bloomberg tried to do last year in Colorado.
You might ask why the guy on the right is pointing his AK-47 at his buddy with his finger in the trigger guard? I certainly wonder that.
The movie was actually filmed in New Mexico, just east of where I used to work as a ranger in the Pecos Wilderness. The scene above was filmed at Ghost Ranch, about 50 miles away – near Georgia O’Keefe’s house.
All of her paintings looked like she had the same general idea on her mind. New Mexico can be a weird place.
