Feynman Explained That Belief In Settled Science Is The End Of Hope And Progress

It is in the admission of ignorance and the admission of uncertainty that there is a hope for the continuous motion of human beings in some direction that doesn’t get confined, permanently blocked, as it has so many times before in various periods in the history of man.

Where Does Musical Genius Come From?

Like myself, John Denver was born in New Mexico and lived much of his life in Colorado. He wrote this song in ten minutes, while riding up a chair lift 40 years ago.

A rancher’s armed battle against the US government is standard libertarian fare | Kieran Suckling | Comment is free | theguardian.com

The Guardian worries about NSA spying, but has no problem with Feds sending a massive paramilitary operation to settle a legal dispute with a 67 year old rancher whose family has been raising cattle on that land for 140 years. Their readers want the military to launch lethal drone attacks on political opponents.

A Hockey Stick Of Data Tampering In Illinois

The National Weather Service says December-March was the coldest on record in Chicago.

ScreenHunter_304 Apr. 19 07.35

But NCDC says that December-March temperatures in Illinois were fourth coldest, and not as cold as the winter of 1977-1978. There was a lot more ice on Lake Michigan this spring than there was in 1978 – meaning that either the freezing point of water has changed, or the NCDC data is garbage.

NCDC accomplished this remarkable feat of data destruction through a hockey stick of tampering, which skews 2014 vs. 1978 temperatures by about two degrees.

King George III – October 27, 1775

October 27, 1775

King George III speaks before both houses of the British Parliament to discuss growing concern about the rebellion in America, which he viewed as a traitorous action against himself and Great Britain. He began his speech by reading a “Proclamation of Rebellion” and urged Parliament to move quickly to end the revolt and bring order to the colonies.

The king spoke of his belief that “many of these unhappy people may still retain their loyalty, and may be too wise not to see the fatal consequence of this usurpation, and wish to resist it, yet the torrent of violence has been strong enough to compel their acquiescence, till a sufficient force shall appear to support them.” With these words, the king gave Parliament his consent to dispatch troops to use against his own subjects, a notion that his colonists believed impossible.
