Good Thing They Didn’t Have The Knockout Game In 1901

In New York yesterday the temperature was 103 deg. in the shade, or 3 deg. above the highest previously recorded, namely, 100 deg. In Pittsburg and Philadelphia many factories were closed, and the men were completely prostrated by the heat.  In these three and other cities thousands of persons sleep on the docks and in the parks, as it is quite unbearable indoors at  night.
