In 2009, David Barber at the University of Manitoba declared that multi-year ice was gone from the Arctic

The multiyear ice covering the Arctic Ocean has effectively vanished, a startling development that will make it easier to open up polar shipping routes, an Arctic expert said on Thursday.

David Barber, Canada’s Research Chair in Arctic System Science at the University of Manitoba, said the ice was melting at an extraordinarily fast rate.

“We are almost out of multiyear sea ice in the northern hemisphere,” he said in a presentation in Parliament. The little that remains is jammed up against Canada’s Arctic archipelago, far from potential shipping routes.

The latest map from the University of Colorado shows that about two-thirds of the Arctic Basin is covered with the vanished multiyear ice.

In 1999, Hansen wrote that the US was not warming or getting more extreme.

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

But since then, NASA has dramatically rewritten US history, to turn an actual cooling trend into a reported warming trend. Note that the animation below does not include the latest tampering in the top graph.

Climate experts tell us that climate change causes war, but in 1941 climate change was caused by war. This is a positive feedback loop which causes some well knowing climate scientists to behave like escalating douche bags – until their funding gets cut off.

It has been over 100 years since Arrhenius promised us  9ºC warming, Siberia becoming the greatest farming country in the world, cotton farming in Iowa, Antarctica becoming like British Columbia …. fig trees in Chicago …

And now Obama tells us that we must prepare for global warming, which is going to show up any minute now.

In about five minutes, this blog will have logged its twelve millionth page view – and the US will have accumulated another twelve million dollars in debt.

There are about fifty million actual taxpayers in the US, and Obama adds debt at a rate of about three dollars per hour per taxpayer – 24×7. Calculated over a forty hour work week, that works out to more than $10/hour in new debt per taxpayer.

I’m off to have some fun.

There has been no global warming since this article appeared in the Canberra Times almost twenty years ago, other than the rebound in temperatures after the Mt. Pinatubo cooling. The complete failure of the theory over the last 20 years, has caused IPCC confidence in the theory to increase to 95%.

Most major news outlets still can’t find any scientific evidence against catastrophic global warming, yet I find it for free – usually in a matter of a few seconds.
