A More Rigorous Definition Of “Scientist”

We hear all kind of bizarre clams about climate catastrophe from people calling themselves scientists. It is time that we tighten up the definition of the term :

scientist : someone who couldn’t get a date in high school

IMDB Sleeper : “The Arrogance Of The Sheep”

It took most of the 20th century for the consensus to accept the blatantly obvious fact of Continental Drift. They chose to ignore the evidence – because it didn’t fit their belief system.

Similarly, we hear consensus claims that the Earth is heating this century (despite all evidence to the contrary) because the evidence doesn’t match their belief system.

My experience with scientists is that the vast majority are mindless sheep, bleating behind the funding shepherd.

“Experts Say”

In mid-July, a heating and air conditioning company was running a radio ad here in Colorado.

Last summer was the hottest on record in Colorado, and experts say that this summer will be just as hot

The last four weeks has been the coolest summer weather I have ever seen. Many days have been more like September or October weather.

Monterey Bay Scientists Affected By Climate Funding Disorder

Monterey Bay affected by climate change

Monterey Bay is a microcosm of the “immediate and growing threat” of climate change in California, the state Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday.

From rising sea levels and ocean acidity to declining populations of chinook salmon and sea lion pups, global warming is here

Lactating female sea lions leave their pups for days at a time to forage for food. Scientists believe warmer ocean temperatures in 2009 reduced coastal populations of fish, causing the lactating mothers to travel farther for food and abandon their pups beyond their fasting limitations.

Utter bullshit. Monterey Bay pH measurements show the exact opposite. pH was higher at the end of the time series than it was at the beginning,

NSIDC : Up Is The New Down

NSIDC : Down

Back when the sea was thick and lasted for years, cyclones tended to spread the ice out and actually increase its extent, said Julienne Stroeve of the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colo. Now, when ice gets spread out, it simply breaks up and disappears.

“As our ice cover has thinned, some of our old rules are changing,” said Stroeve.

NSIDC : Eight Is The New Two

NSIDC : Second

This year “will without a doubt” rank in the top five lowest levels of ice extent ever recorded in the satellite era, and there is a good possibility that 2013 could rank second in terms of recorded ice lows, said Walt Meier, a scientist at the National Snow & Ice Data Center.

“It’s kind of remarkable that it’s as low as it is [this year], given that the weather conditions were not terribly optimal for ice loss,” Meier said.

NASA Forgot To Mention Any Recent Information About Greenland

I wonder why not? Could it have anything to do with the fact that temperatures never got close to freezing this summer in the interior of the ice sheet?
