They should know not to water the greens at night during the summer.

Around this time last year I caught some NSIDC monkey business, and something looks wrong again this year. They show 2013 and 2012 ice extent almost identical.

But the JAXA maps tell a very different story. There is a lot more ice this year in the Beaufort and Kara Seas than there was last year.

Arctic Sea-Ice MonitorThe image below shows 2013 ice which was not present in 2012 in green, and red shows the opposite. The most important difference being in the Beaufort Sea, which this year is 100% concentration and last year was ice-free.

There is a lot more ice this year, and NSIDC seems to be missing it.

Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday that the Obama administration would sign a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, despite bipartisan resistance in Congress from members concerned it could lead to new gun control measures in the U.S.

Kerry, releasing a written statement as the U.N. treaty opened for signature Monday, said the U.S. “welcomes” the next phase for the treaty, which the U.N. General Assembly approved on April 2.

“We look forward to signing it as soon as the process of conforming the official translations is completed satisfactorily,” he said. Kerry called the treaty “an important contribution to efforts to stem the illicit trade in conventional weapons, which fuels conflict, empowers violent extremists, and contributes to violations of human rights.”

In other words, Tesla isn’t profitable without a massive government scam.

A company press release announced last week that this year it will vastly expand the supercharger network its cars use to refuel — for free. This year, the network will “connect most of the major metro areas in the US and Canada,” and a year from now, the company says the network will stretch across the continent. The chargers themselves have been upgraded to allow for a full three hours of driving in less than a half hour.

Nice – so if ten Tesla’s show up at once at the recharging station, they only have to wait an average of 2-1/2 hours to recharge for the next three hours of driving. And then do it again.

It must be very disappointing to find out that there is no conspiracy and no money involved. Just a group of highly intelligent scientists and engineers working in loose consort to correct one area of government fraud and abuse.
