Humans have added 100 parts per million CO2 to the atmosphere over the last century, which is the equivalent of placing an extra nine people in the Rose Bowl. You can’t see them in the picture below, because all nine of them are currently in the bathroom.
Almost half way through May, 2013 is still the coldest meteorological spring in US history. This year may finish spring warmer than 1917, but that is yet to be seen. Last year was the warmest spring in US history, with 1910 being the second warmest.

The 2013 Colorado Climate Festival brought out several activists and a couple hundred attendees to Denver’s Civic Center on Saturday.
Although organizers had hoped for a larger crowd, the event was still a chance for activists to raise awareness and encourage residents to do more to stem global warming, conserve water and drive less.
In addition to live music, beer and organization booths, the festival had seven speakers address what’s being done about the climate situation and how Coloradans can do more.
“We’re trying to create activists,” said Auden Schendler, one of the speakers.

A local state of emergency has been declared in a western Manitoba municipality after homes in Ochre Beach were destroyed and seriously damaged by a wave of lake ice.
Area officials told CBC News the wind pushed built-up ice off Dauphin Lake on Friday evening and caused it to pile up in the community, located on the lake’s southern shore.
The piles of ice, which were more than nine metres tall in some cases, destroyed at least six homes and cottages, according to the Rural Municipality of Ochre River.
Another 14 homes suffered extensive damage, with some structures knocked off their foundations.
Clayton Watts, Ochre River’s deputy reeve, said it’s a miracle no one was hurt.
He told CBC News one minute people were watching hockey in their living rooms, the next they heard something that sounded like a freight train near their homes.

We are being bombarded with moronic statements like :
“Last time CO2 reached 400 PPM, [things were very different blah blah blah] ……”
That may or may not be true, but anyone with half a brain in their head would recognize that this indicates that by definition, whatever they are whining about has no correlation with CO2.

An immigrant has killed one man and injured four others in an apparently random pickaxe attack in Milan, police have said.
The attack, which police say was carried out by a Ghanaian immigrant with a criminal record, caused terror on the streets in a residential district of the city on Saturday.
Witnesses said a man ran through the streets wildly swinging a pickaxe and ferociously struck passers-by, mainly on the head.
Pools of blood were said to have “stained the streets”.

There are predators out there wanting to hurt children. In May 1927, one of them blew up a school house in Michigan – killing dozens of elementary school children.
During the 1960s and 1970s, one of the BBC’s top personalities was raping five year old children. Penn State University’s football camp staff were raping children.
In December of last year, a predator got into a school in Connecticut and killed many people. The children and teachers were completely helpless and defenseless against a cowardly, scrawny teenager.
The principal called 911 and asked for the police to send people with guns to come help them out. The police took twenty minutes to get there, from two miles away in a town with no traffic.
By the time the good guys with guns got there, it was too late. Had the principal and staff been prepared to protect the children, those children would have opened their Christmas presents. Instead of building a new $60 million school, they should train and equip their staff to protect the children. It would honor the dead to make sure that it never happens again.
Gun-free zones are the idea of weak-minded fools. They are an invitation to predators. Children deserve a chance. Why are Piers Morgan and Barack Obama determined to leave (other people’s) children defenseless?
