No Science Permitted For Climate Alarmists
The tide is rising fast on Louisiana. A report late last year by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration concluded that along the Gulf Coast, the sea level is surging three times faster than the global average—and studies have for years singled out New Orleans as the U.S. city most vulnerable to destruction from the effects of climate change. Louisiana’s rapidly rising threat from the sea was even the subject of a 2012 Academy Award-nominated film, Beasts of the Southern Wild, which depicts an impoverished community devastated by rising waters and vicious hurricanes.
I’m not sure what they are putting in the water at the National Journal, but it should be obvious that water is a low viscosity fluid which seeks an equal elevation. There is no way that sea level can rise significantly faster in one place than another.
What is happening in Louisiana is that flood control structures have prevented sediment from reaching the Mississippi Delta, causing new land land formation to not keep up with subsidence. Only a complete moron would believe that buying a Prius will stop subsidence in New Orleans.

No Mechanism Required Here
Alarmist climate change theory is based on the idea that the atmosphere heats due to man-made CO2, and the change in energy balance causes the climate to change.
The atmosphere quit heating a long time ago, so alarmists took the liberty of cutting the mechanism out of the equation. They now go directly from CO2 to climate change, without any specified mechanism – making climate science nothing more than government sponsored superstition.
Perhaps Trenberth can explain how his heat hiding at the bottom of the ocean affects the atmosphere.

Bloomberg Missed His Chance To Destroy Democracy 100 Years Ago
TheWall Street bombing occurred at 12:01 pm on Thursday, September 16, 1920, in the Financial District of New York City. The blast killed 38 and seriously injured 143.
The attack was related to… anti-capitalist agitation in the United States.
Had Bloomberg been mayor then, he would have had an immediate excuse to destroy the Bill of Rights.

Children Just Won’t Know What The Rule Of Law Is
The police violated the law and the US Constitution, and said “they don’t care what the law is.”
A decorated war veteran on a Boy Scout hike with his 15-year-old son was arrested alongside a Texas country road after a police officer accused him of “rudely displaying” a firearm.
Army Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham told Fox News he was illegally disarmed by members of the Temple Police Dept. – even though he held the proper permits to carry his weapons.
Grisham and his son were on a 10-mile hike in a rural area populated by wild boars and cougars. He was carrying an AR-15 rifle and a .45 caliber pistol.
He was charged with resisting arrest – even though video his son filmed of the incident clearly showed that Grisham did not resist arrest. Police later reduced the charges to interfering with a peace officer while performing a duty – a class B misdemeanor.
“I’m still frankly and honestly 100 percent confused about what I’m being charged with,” Grisham said.
Temple Police told local media that the Fort Hood soldier refused to hand of his weapon – leading to his arrest. However, the video shows that Grisham complied with their demands.
One of the officers told Grisham that anyone holding a gun is considered dangerous, according to a 15-minute video obtained by Fox News.
“In this day and age people are alarmed when they see someone with what you have,” one of the officers told a handcuffed Grisham. “They don’t care what the law is.”

Understanding Arctic Sea Ice
Starting in 1988, a large amount of thick multi-year ice began flowing out of the Arctic Basin into the Fram Strait during the winters. This caused the ice to thin.
Since 2009, the pattern has reversed and the percentage of multi-year ice has increased substantially, causing the ice to thicken. This past winter the thick ice moved directly away from the Fram Strait, causing almost all of it to be preserved.
The amount of 2+ year old ice has increased by 30% since 2009, and the amount of 3+ year old ice has increased by 50% since 2011. People at NSIDC understand this, but for some reason Mark Serreze isn’t talking about it.
Winter winds caused the decline, and they are also causing the increase. PIOMAS of course does not reflect any of this.

Children Just Aren’t Going To Know What Soccer Is
More than 80% of my son’s soccer practices have been cancelled this year because of snow, and it has been snowing continuously for the last 24 hours with the temperature at -8C. The season ends in three weeks.
20 MARCH 2000
According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.
