My Al Gore story for today.A couple thousand people today filled Westminster Hall Forum starting at 10:am in order to hear Al Gore, on his book tour: Future. Very serious business thinking about our future on this planet.

However, the ending of my day with Al Gore goes like this and is the greatest, saddest and funniest part. I had done reconnaissance 2 days ago to figure out the parking situation. Downtown is nightmare so got a friend to go along. She dropped me off in the back parking lot and there in the handicapped spot was Al Gore’s limousine.

Obama majorette gunned down in park

A 15-year-old girl who performed at Barack Obama’s inauguration festivities is the latest name on the ever-increasing murder list in the president’s home town.

The city’s 42nd killing is part of Chicago’s bloodiest January in more than a decade, following on the heels of 2012, which ended with more than 500 murders for the first time since 2008.

It also comes at a time when Mr Obama, spurred by the Connecticut school massacre in December, is actively pushing for tougher gun laws, though he faces ardent opposition from the National Rifle Association and its allies in Congress.

Chicago has the “toughest” gun control laws in the country. Law-abiding citizens are already not allowed to protect themselves. Gun control advocates hope to give criminal gangs even more freedom to terrorize without fear for their personal safety.

Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don’t own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt.

Paragould, an Arkansas town of around 26,000 residents, the mayor and police chief announced that starting this month police in SWAT gear carrying AR-15s would patrol the streets.

“If you’re out walking, we’re going to stop you, ask why you’re out walking, and check for your ID,” police chief Todd Stovall told a December town hall meeting. As if to render the implementation of a visible police state more palatable, Stovall assured residents that police stops would not be based on any profiling: “We’re going to do it to everybody,” he said.

“You’re going to like what you hear,” White House aides have told green groups, according to an official at one environmental organization who expects the president to publicly commit to moving forward with EPA climate regulations.

“In past speeches, there was a lot of, ‘I call on Congress,’” the official added. “And what I’m expecting to see more of this time is, ‘This is what my administration is going to do.’

Obama is done with that pesky Constitution and Congress, and is planning to take personal control of the climate.  The press will of course cheer on his coup.

But this will put Tom Karl and James Hansen on the spot. Will they be asked to quit cheating with the temperature record, in order to make Obama’s climate coup look successful? These guys have spent almost 15 years jacking up temperatures, and it may be difficult for them to put the brakes on.
