Extreme weather deaths are actually down 98% since the 1920s.

Aggregate mortality attributed to all extreme weather events globally has declined by more than 90% since the 1920s, in spite of a four-fold rise in population and much more complete reporting of such events. The aggregate mortality rate declined by 98%, largely due to decreased mortality in three main areas:

Deaths and death rates from droughts, which were responsible for approximately 60% of cumulative deaths due to extreme weather events from 1900–2010, are more than 99.9% lower than in the 1920s.

Deaths and death rates for floods, responsible for over 30% of cumulative extreme weather deaths, have declined by over 98% since the 1930s.

Deaths and death rates for storms (i.e. hurricanes, cyclones, tornados, typhoons), responsible for around 7% of extreme weather deaths from 1900–2008, declined by more than 55% since the 1970s.

Ask the mayor a question, you get lied to and then accosted by the police.

The guy in the picture below could be expelled from school in New York for threatening children with a gun-like object, and jailed for having a magazine bigger than five rounds.

The Soviet Union was based on the idea that the government would keep you sheltered, safe and in food and vodka – if you kept your mouth shut.

People who complained or thought for themselves were labeled enemies of public safety, and were vilified and punished.  The press was completely compliant, and the upper 10% lived very well – off the work of the peasants.

We see exactly the same thing occurring in this country with climate skeptics and gun owners. Obama says that both of these groups endanger America’s children, and the press is 100% behind him.

Scourge of NYC’s streets

Ninety percent, or 2,493, of the 2,779 illegal firearms seized from suspects in arrests in the city last year were handguns.

By contrast, a total of 77 assault weapons were seized in arrests in the city, less than 3 percent of the total.

In only three of nearly 1,400 shooting incidents last year were ballistics associated with assault weapons.

New York has a problem with gangs and illegal pistols, so being the left wing geniuses that they are, they chose to confiscate legal rifles – which will increase the crime rate and endanger families and children. An AR-15 saved two college students in New York last week.

Rochester, N.Y. —  Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Boise heard a noise coming from the basement. As he walked toward the source of that noise, the RIT student noticed two men standing in the downstairs portion of his apartment.

“They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs,” said Boise.

One of them had a handgun trained on Boise.

Within moments, Boise screamed. His cries were heard by his roommate, Raymond.

“It wasn’t like a, ‘I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass’ kind of scream,” Raymond said.  “So, I instinctively went to my gun bag.”

Raymond owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.

Raymond estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders.

“By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out,” Raymond said.

The two men fled the apartment.

Nothing was taken and no shots were fired.
