Fortunately, despite worries about a warming planet, no one is predicting the end of snow anytime soon. Some cold places will see more snow, because warmer air can carry more moisture. In the Northern Hemisphere, snow coverage this past December was the greatest since records began in 1966, Rutgers University’s Global Snow Lab reported. But Dr. David Robinson, a climatologist at Rutgers, warns that year-to-year fluctuations and regional differences can deceive casual observers. In general, he says, there has been an “overall decline in snowfall.”

There are so many things wrong with this paragraph, it is difficult to know where to start.
First – winter snow extent has been increasing, and four of the five greatest snow extents have been since the year 2000. Does Dr. Robinson have trouble understanding his own graph?

But even dumber is confusing snow depth and extent.

The meaning of record snow extent is that snow fell in more places than ever before, not that a few places had deeper snow. Extent is a measure of area, not thickness. The reason for the record snow extent was because cold air was coming further south than normal.
Do you have to prove that you are a completely incompetent to get a job in the global warming business? These people are getting everything exactly backwards.
