Obama 2008 : Against Raising The Federal Debt Limit

moveleft.org/obamas_promises/www-barackobama-com_issues_fiscal.pdf

Does Obama ever tell the truth about anything?

Obama Sends Congress Notice to Raise Federal Debt Ceiling

Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) — President Barack Obama formally notified Congress today that that the government needs another $1.2 trillion in borrowing authority.

The written certification to raise the debt ceiling to $16.394 trillion, part of an August agreement between the White House and Congress to raise the limit in three steps, starts a 15-day clock for lawmakers to consider and vote on a joint resolution disapproving of the increase.

The Hottest Summer Ever

The press has been repeating that 2012 is the hottest summer ever in the US.

The high temperature today in Unionville, Missouri was 77F, which was 30 degrees cooler than the same day in 1936.

On August 22, 1936 the temperature was 112 degrees, which was 27 degrees higher than the forecast for the same day this year.

Joe Bastardi Analyzes Michael Mann’s Hurricane Claim

Guest post by Joe Bastardi

Michael Mann:

“it’s part of a trend, Katrina, the record season of 2005 was part of a trend towards more destructive storms”

Is Dr. Mann kidding? The facts below will show the fallacy of this statement. I will do him the favor of showing him the facts of the matter, since statements like this reveal he does not know them, of if he does, defies logic with the statement above attributed to him.

First of all, we are in the warm AMO and as you will see, if anything, one has to wonder why this has not been worse!

Global ACE index

That trend is down.

Major impact storms,  3 or greater on the US coast, by Decade

Hit points  ( take the  intensity category at landall and add up)

1940s  10  Majors  ( one  double hit,  1947 so it could be 11)  34  hit points

1950s  9 majors  (  We could count Donna  3 times to make it 11 as it hit as a major in 3 separate places)   by hit points  this was number one  37

John Cook’s Record Hot Year

In March, John Cook told us that an El Nino would make 2012 the hottest year ever, and 2013 even hotter.

Prediction: New Surface Temperature Record in 2013

So how did he do so far?

ENSO is higher than forecast (0.09) and GISS is much lower than forecast 0.49 for the year and tanking.

Solar max, no volcanoes, no excuses. It looks like 2012 will be one of the coldest years of the decade.
