1075 Days Without A Hurricane Strike

It looks like the post-civil war record of 1,075 days without a US hurricane strike will end tomorrow. This should be a disaster for climate alarmists, but the propaganda mill is totally corrupt and endemic to the system. They spin all weather events as proof of global warming, and are fully supported by their useful idiots in government and the press.

As CO2 has increased, US hurricane strikes have decreased.

Why I Expect MYI To Increase Over Last September

Red is March, 2011 MYI. Green is September, 2010 MYI. Unless there was a huge amount of ice compaction towards the Canadian coast, there will be an increase in MYI area over last September, as there has been each September since 2008. There would have to be almost 80% loss of MYI this summer to match 2010.

GFS/WRF Irene Simulation

I did a WRF run with the latest GFS boundary conditions and it shows Irene weakening after it hits North Carolina. Looks like there is going to be lots of rain in Delaware.

My Irene Forecast

If Irene does a lot of damage, they will blame it on global warming. If she doesn’t they will say this is a sign of things to come – and will only get worse in the future.

The global warming religion is perverse and irrational. Everything that happens is a sign from the CO2 gods. There is no possible real or imagined event which will not be blamed on global warming.

New York Had Five Major Hurricanes Below 350 PPM

No one is forecasting that Irene will be a major hurricane when it hits New York. It is barely a major hurricane now. McKibben is completely FOS.

McKibben Forecasts Category 3 For Long Island – Blames Obama

Hurricane Irene’s dangerous power can be traced to global warming says Bill McKibben—and Obama is at fault for his failed leadership on the environment.

Irene’s got a middle name, and it’s Global Warming.

As she roars up the Eastern Seaboard, everyone is doing what they should—boarding windows, preparing rescue plans, stocking up on batteries. But a lot of people are also wondering: what’s a “tropical” storm doing heading for the snow belt?

Category 3 Storms have rarely hit Long Island since the 1800s; one was the great unnamed storm of 1938, which sent 15-foot storm waters surging through what are now multimillion-dollar seaside homes.

That’s why more than 300 of us have been arrested outside the White House in the last week,

Texans To Pay An Extra $60 Per Year For Wind Power Lines

The cost of building thousands of miles of high-voltage transmission lines to bring West Texas wind power to major markets has risen nearly 40 percent from original estimates, according to a state report.

When approved by the Public Utility Commission in 2008, the plan to build lines to support up to 18,500 megawatts of West Texas wind power was tagged at $4.9 billion dollars.

A quarterly update now puts the cost at $6.8 billion, a 38 percent increase.

Early estimates said the cost of the new lines would raise Texans’ monthly power bills by about $4, but the higher price tag will push that fee closer to $5. Companies building the lines have not yet filed with state officials to begin recouping the costs, but that process may start later this year, said Public Utility Commission spokesman Terry Hadley.
