If The Arctic Summer Were Fifteen Months Long ….
Over the last three months, the ice edge off Alaska has retreated 200-300 miles towards the pole. In order to have an ice free Arctic, it would have to retreat another 1000 miles. This tells me that in order to have an ice-free Arctic, the Arctic summer would probably have to be much longer than it is.
Only problem is, the sun is low on the horizon and will be setting in a few weeks. I think that ice-free Arctic claims are 100% unadulterated BS.

Diane Sawyer : Wind, Rain And Snow Caused By Global Warming
“And tonight, the weather gone wild. Winds that come out of nowhere. Floods swelling streets. Heat breaking records in all 50 states. Snow where it hasn’t fallen in decades.”
Suppose you have 100 weather stations in a state, and a 100 year long temperature database. You would expect to have on average one high temperature record set somewhere in that state every day, or about 30 high temperature records per state per month. The odds of the state going through a month without any station setting a high temperature record are very low.
This is where superstition comes from. People mistakenly believe that something unusual is happening, and then blame it on the witch next door (who has not had as much plastic surgery.)

Aggie Shock News : Coral Reefs Can Survive Changes In Sea Level!
The level of knowledge is almost up to Charles Darwin in 1831
Rocks from the fossil Permian Reef in the Guadalupe Mountains of West Texas reveal secrets about changes in sea level and marine life 265 million years ago, according to a new study.
Improved understanding of this ancient reef could shed light on the effects of environmental change on living systems, a concern for coral reefs in today’s warming world.
Much like Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, which stretches across more than 1,600 miles and is so large it can be seen from space, the Permian Reef was a massive reef that grew in shallow tropical waters 265 million years ago.
“The ancient reef grew in water just below sea level and it overlooked the Permian Basin, which was more than 1,000 feet deep,” said study author Thomas Olszewski of Texas A&M in College Station. “The rocks at the foot of the mountains preserve sediments that record natural environmental changes caused by changing sea level and climate.”
These valuable rocks can show a record of past events in Earth history, and in the Permian Reef geologists can clearly see evidence for numerous rises and falls of sea level, Olszewski said.

For Bob Berwyn
Despite having just lived through Summit County’s snowiest winter/spring on record, Bob Berwyn is worried that Colorado is running out of snow. Here is a picture I took on Cameron pass in May – before the really heavy snow started falling.

Teenagers Doing The Wild Thing In Fort Collins
I was riding my bike up in the foothills this morning in a 30 MPH wind (which I named Julia) when I stumbled upon these troubled teenagers – who had almost just gotten run over by a truck.
The driver of the semi chose to honk at the deer, rather than slow down. God forbid he should lose a few seconds.

Julia Thinks The Problem Is “Her Words”
Almost as stupid and arrogant as Obama. These anointed leaders seem to believe that the world revolves around them.
MARK COLVIN: Thousands of people have rallied out the front of Parliament, challenging the Federal Government to call an immediate election and stop its plans to introduce a carbon tax.
The Prime Minister Julia Gillard is not about to oblige them, but she’s been reminded several times today that it’s exactly a year since she uttered those words that have haunted her since – that there would be no carbon tax under a government she led.
Ms Gillard says she knows her words have disappointed many.
