Hansen And Solar Max

http://www.spaceweather.com/

Hansen told us last NH winter that the record snow was due to a missing ice cube in the Hudson Bay. No doubt this also explains the record snow currently in the Southern Hemisphere.

The missing ice cube is a much more plausible explanation than low solar activity. How could the Sun affect weather on Earth?

Houston Chronicle : “near-unprecedented”

Alarmists are getting more desperate by the day. How can something be “near-unprecedented?” Unprecedented means it is not near anything else.

Which is worse – a one year drought or an eight year drought?

After enduring nearly a year of drought, Texans have grown accustomed to seeing acres of withered crops, scores of dried-up ponds and mile after mile of cracked earth.

But the drought that began last fall has yet to eclipse the infamous dry spell of the 1950s, a bleak period when the skies stubbornly withheld moisture. It was the state’s worst drought ever.

From 1949 to 1957, Texas got 30 to 50 percent less rain than normal, and temperatures rose above average.

NRDC : Cascades Snow Has Declined 60%

Since the early 1950s, snow accumulation has declined 60 percent and winter seasons have shortened in some areas of the Cascade Range in Oregon and Washington.

It is OK to lie when you are saving the planet.

Usually by August, most of the snow on Mount Rainier, the sleeping volcanic giant here, has long since melted. The meadows of wildflowers are abloom, and hikers galore are tramping along the trails.

But this year, temperatures have been colder than usual, keeping record mounds of old snow lying around. This has discouraged everyone, from the most rigorous climbers to backpackers, hikers and Sunday drivers

New Zealand Having “once in a lifetime snowstorm”

A polar blast has hit New Zealand, bringing freezing temperatures and the heaviest snowfall in 40 years.

Snow is even predicted to fall on the hills around Auckland in what meteorologists are describing as a once-in-a-lifetime storm.

Schools across the country have been closed for the day and most airports are at a standstill.

The bitterly cold southerly blast has now brought snow to most of New Zealand, closing roads and some airports and cutting power to thousands of homes.

Snow has made roads impassable in many areas of both islands.

MetService head forecaster Peter Kreft told the New Zealand Herald the polar blast was “of the order of a 50-year” event and warned it could last for several more days.

“It’s a once-in-many-decades event. We are probably looking at something like, in terms of extent and severity, maybe 50 years,” he said.

Are Greens As Dense As They Pretend To Be?

China plans to grow CO2 emissions by 25% over the next four years, and the Guardian calls it a “low-carbon plan.”

China to cap energy use in national low-carbon plan

China has learned that many western journalists are uneducated fools, incapable of thinking for themselves – and will believe whatever they are told.
