Memo To Climate Scientists : Lies, Exaggerations And Phony Appeals To Authority Don’t Work

with the credibility of climate change scientists in doubt, some of them have responded by doubling down. They dismiss Climategate as trivial, increasing their criticism of skeptics as ignorant, unscientific and tools of fossil fuel companies. And of course they continue to churn out studies finding more harmful effects of catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (CAGW), despite the lack of evidence that computer models can accurately depict climate decades into the future.

That approach has backfired, says The Moderate Voice:

Another credibility problem arises from the incessant claims that there is scientific “consensus” about AGW. When people that hear that claim are also aware of the very real dissenters and doubters including at least some scientists as well as the studies that present data that at least calls AGW theory into doubt, they naturally wonder what else global warming theory promoters might be lying about.  For those familiar with the scientific method, the methodological defect of a “non-falsifiable theory” which occurred after AGW was recast as more generic and bi-directional “climate change” exacerbates the credibility problem.

We can’t account for the missing melt, and it is a travesty that we can’t

Arctic sea ice at record low for July

Arctic sea ice extent averaged for July 2011 reached the lowest level for the month in the 1979 to 2011 satellite record, even though the pace of ice loss slowed substantially during the last two weeks of July.

Probably what they meant to say was that the melt rate was at a record low and had essentially flatlined over the last two weeks.

It Is A Software Problem

I have a supercomputer at my house. It contains an Nvidia Tesla card capable of doing over one trillion calculations per second. Twenty years ago it would have been the most powerful computer on Earth.

Many climate scientists seem to be under the impression that having very powerful hardware somehow overcomes a lack of understanding of the climate system. Joe D’Aleo sent this over.

Supercomputers may help predict climate changes locally

“Ireland records coldest June and July in 50 years”

Global cooling as Ireland records coldest June and July in 50 years
Summer missing in action as cold temperatures dominate
By CATHAL DERVAN, IrishCentral.com Staff Writer

So much for global warming! Ireland’s summer heatwave is still missing in action – and there’s no sign of it turning up anytime soon.

Experts at Met Eireann, the Irish state weather service, have confirmed the country has just experienced the coldest July in 50 years — this after a similar finding for June.

And there’s little sign of August being much better after the month began with widespread rain across the 32 counties.
