NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his “foremost” mission as the head of America’s space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Given that the US is currently bombing quite a few Muslim countries in the Middle East using NASA technology, and attempting to replace them with anti-American regimes (the Carter Doctrine) I would have to give them failing marks.

The only country we aren’t attempting regime change in is Iran, which is already solidly anti-American.

Over the very long term, variations in Earth’s orbit that shape where and when sunlight reaches the planet are the main cause of ice ages, but this doesn’t apply to our current situation. It’s true that the Sun has produced more sunspots in recent decades than it did in the early 1800s. However, this mainly reflects an increase in the ultraviolet range of sunlight, which is only a tiny part of the solar spectrum.

In fact, the total solar energy reaching Earth changes very little over time. Across the 11-year solar cycle, it varies by less than 0.1%, and even across the period since the little ice age chill of 1750, solar output climbed no more than about 0.12%, according to the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Subsequent estimates by Judith Lean of the Naval Research Laboratory and others have pegged the solar contribution to 20th-century warming at 10% or less. And a recent analysis of solar trends suggests that – over the last few decades – the sun has actually contributed a slight cooling effect, rather than accounting for any of the observed warming.

Almost every creature in the sea evolved with temperatures and atmospheric CO2 much higher than at present. Charles Darwin brought forward theories that animals adapt to changes in the environment, and that the most adaptable survive.

What is clear is that many climate/environmental scientists are incapable of adapting and will soon become extinct.

Global warming alert as sea level rise said to be fastest rate for 2,100 years

Global warming is causing sea levels to rise at a faster rate today than at any time in the past 2,100 years, according to new research.

Scientists used the fossils left by tiny marine animals to record two millennia of sea levels along the US Atlantic coast.

They found a pattern of sea level change that was consistent with warming and cooling climate.

Blaming this on CO2 is complete crap. Sea level rise along the East coast has been fixed for 100 years. In New England there is little to no sea level rise over the last 40 years. Sea level on the US Pacific Coast is not rising at all.

If CO2 was the cause, we would have expected to see a sharp rise after 1950, when atmospheric CO2 began to rise quickly. By contrast, sea level rise rates along the Atlantic coast have slowed since 1950.

Met Office experts will be presenting new ways to maximise wind farm investment at wind energy conferences in Scotland this week in light of the volatility of wind resource over the last year.

Weather patterns, and crucially wind speeds, underpin the success for this type renewable energy. The severe gales experienced in Scotland last month coupled with the generally lower than average wind speeds experienced over the last year demonstrate the challenges of wind as a renewable energy resource.
