Auden Schendler claims to have a foolproof way to win arguments with skeptics. His ski area is open this weekend due to record snowpack, while he worries about global warming.

here’s one way fool-proof way to approach the climate science conversation. Here goes:

Let’s all agree on some things. First: we know the planet is warming. Nobody is doubting that, anywhere at all. Second, we know that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are warming agents; again, that’s not being debated in any circles and is two hundred year old science. Third, we know that warming of 2-4 degrees C is much more likely to be catastrophic than good for the world. (It’s very easy to debunk the argument that warming will be bad some places but good other places, the idea that Greenland will be nice and we’ll move there. All that methane filled permafrost melting, plus all the sea level rise easily negates the argument. Not to mention floods, droughts, fires, etc. )  Fourth, we know that humans have the ability to radically cut greenhouse gas emissions, and that doing so will prevent catastrophic warming. So it makes sense to do so, especially since the consquences of inaction will be much more costly.

If anyone has a clean record on climate change in the potential GOP field, it’s former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. While Palin set up a sub-Cabinet office to map out the state’s response to global warming as governor, and sought federal dollars to help coastal communities threatened by erosion, she has been steadfast in saying human beings are not responsible for climate change and that proposals to limit pollution threaten the economy.

But there are real changes going on in our climate. And I don’t want to argue about the causes. What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts? We have got to clean up this planet. We have got to encourage other nations also to come along with us with the impacts of climate change, what we can do about that.

Scenario A- Barcelona scores more goals than Manchester United and wins.

Scenario B- Manchester United scores more goals than Barcelona and wins.

Scenario C- Something else happens.

These are not predictions, but I promise I will take credit for having accurately predicted whichever scenario comes to pass.

I am not fond of conspiracy theories, but if I were inclined to latch on to one it would be the way we raise industrial meat. We have been pumping children for three generations full of estrogen added milk and meat – since they were babies. The result is a population which no longer exhibits much in the way of male characteristics. Much easier to control that way.

I don’t think that he knows or cares anything about the US or running the US. His goal seems to be to keep attention focused continually on himself. Even while they played God Save The Queen at Buckingham Palace.

He learned how to talk in a way which makes people like Chris Mathews and some women sexually attracted to him. I personally find his mannerisms and speeches nothing about incredibly annoying.

His behavior shows what happens to boys who get rejected by their father.

When Carter was President, he declared the “Moral Equivalent of War” MEOW against OPEC, and started throwing massive resources into developing oil shale on the western slope. I was working for him on that project.

Everyone working on it knew that Carter’s plan was going to be an unprecedented environmental catastrophe. The technology at the time would have literally destroyed the western slope of Colorado.

I lost my job within days of Reagan taking office. Shutting that madness down was the second thing he did as President. The first thing was getting the Iranian hostages back.
