The latest data has been added to the Aviso site, and sea level is dropping through the floor. Europe’s Envisat satellite has been collecting data since 2004, and now shows that sea level is the lowest it has been since they started collecting data.
Since the start of the year, sea level has dropped almost 10 mm.

NASA tells us that 2010 saw record melt in Greenland, and that huge amounts of water poured into the sea.

Climate midgets (McKibben, Cook, Romm, etc.) have been claiming that the extreme US weather this month is due to warming. They say that warm air holds more moisture, so we get more rain and violent weather.
The warm air only exists in their mind though.

Flattening the color scheme, it becomes clear that the extreme weather has occurred in cold areas, and that more than 70% of the country has been below normal temperatures this month.
When the air is colder the saturation vapor pressure of water drops, so rain and snow form.
As is normally the case, climate alarmists are not interested in actual data or actual science.
The pages of the New Yorker magazine and other publications have for decades featured the final crisis of human civilization as farce. Cartoon images of religiously inspired ascetics carrying terse placards announcing the end time provide comic relief in a world full of real troubles by invoking our commonsense scientific rationality. But the quote from Rep. Shimkus illustrates something else in the pronouncements of some pundits.
Climate scientists, by contrast, use geophysics, measurement and continuous confirmation through time to model the speed and impact of global warming. They conclude that severe environmental consequences are imminent – not indefinite – byproducts of our carbon based and ever expanding consumer economy. In fact, there is not much time, perhaps a Biblical seven years, for policy makers to confront an urgently needed transformation of society if the worst consequences of global warming are to be avoided.
It actually has nothing to do with science or religion. Just a new face of Bolshevism attacking capitalism.
It seems like there’s been a lot of crazy weather lately. Powerful tornadoes wreaking havoc across the Southeast, Texas in the worst drought in decades and now flooding along the Mississippi.
Global warming, right?
There’s no way it wasn’t. The world we live in is a world warmed-up and altered by greenhouse gases that we put in our atmosphere and that’s just the way it is. There is no control group. Every weather event we get is happening within the context of a climate-changed world.
As one scientist, Dr. Peter Gleick at the Pacific Institute, puts it, “We are loading the dice.” This has become one of my favorite ways to think and talk about the tricky relationship between weather and climate change.

We know all about life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness, but what of beauty? This week hundreds of marchers have converged on Cardiff from the west Midlands and mid-Wales in a desperate bid to halt what, on any showing, is an aesthetic travesty. By what right?
The protested plan, which has seen the Welsh marches in uproar for six months, is to erect 800 more wind turbines across the Cambrian Mountains and build a 100-mile network of 150ft pylons over the Powys hills, down the upper Severn valley into Shropshire. It will turn the largest wilderness area of Britain outside a national park into hundreds of square miles of power station. There is no market demand for this and the electricity generated will be less than one conventional power station. It is all political. The entire project is financed by the taxpayer in grants and by a compulsory levy on electricity bills.
The Washington Post telling Republicans which candidate they should pick. They are hoping that Republicans are as stupid as they were in 2008.

Former governor and ambassador Jon Huntsman is an articulate, attractive, cerebral, urbane internationalist. He’s a proven conservative with a reassuring, moderate tone and a model family. His vast experience in state and federal government, including service as a diplomat, clearly makes him qualified to be president.

Chris Christie says global warming is real. It’s just the very man-made government programs to correct its effects that are bloated and flawed.
