In an April 11 Las Vegas Sun article, “Winter Arctic ice coverage hits record low,” it was reported from Anchorage, Alaska that the surface area of ice in the Arctic Ocean reached its second lowest level during a winter period in thirty years–the lowest was five years ago. Disney Corporation and National Geographic films have been showing ice cascading away, breaking free, and melting from both northern and southern caps for several years. Their point is that the home “turf” for both penguins in the south and polar bears in the north is disappearing. These animals are struggling to survive and it is due to changes in Earth’s climate.

Heart wrenching! Those poor creatures just can’t find any ice. Life at the poles used to be so easy before we messed it up for them.

Two Canal Winchester Middle School students were booted off the school bus last week for, well, passing gas.

James Nichols and Kristine Kuzora are upset that their son’s flatulence was designated as an obscene gesture by school officials.

Their 13-year-old son and another boy were on the school bus Thursday when they both experienced an emission. Children being children, the flatulence apparently caused a ruckus on the bus amid a flurry of laughs, jeers and lowering of windows, Nichols said.

Canal Winchester Middle School officials cited the boys for making an obscene gesture in violation of the student code of conduct in revoking their rides to school Friday.

The bus driver had warned the boys a few weeks ago after another joint gas attack, so they apparently were designated repeat offenders and handed one-day bus suspensions, Nichols said.

Differential cooling in the upper layers of the atmosphere is making it increasingly unstable, and forming convective storms.

A look at mid tropospheric temps vs the lower level temps reveals that globally, the atmosphere is more unstable because of the deep level cooling that has taken place! Its that simple. The cooling in the low levels has not yet caught up to what is going on aloft, and because of that, the way to balance that out is in the form of more atmospheric fights.

Forget gold. We need to switch our monetary valuation to the CO2 standard. CO2 is the most potent energy source known to man, and the US is the world’s #1 manufacturer (per capita.)

As an added benefit, if we pumped enough CO2 into the atmosphere, we could warm America by 20 degrees and thus massively reduce our heating expenses and greenhouse gas emissions.

Dominance of the graph by the MWP was the challenge. As IPCC participant Jay Overpeck said in his email to Professor Deming, “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.”
