It has now been 881 days since any hurricane hit the US, and 6,745 days since a category five hurricane hit the US. That extreme weather is really taking its toll. And it is hot too.
Each time you open up a beer you inhale large amounts of a toxic gas, and you kill a Polar Bear. And probably a couple of Penguins. And a Pika, and some fish in Fresno. And you drown an island. You also kill corals and Wolverines.
Hansen claimed last year was the “hottest year ever” by 0.01 degrees. Over the last decade he has diverged from HadCRUT by an order of magnitude more than his claimed record.
A good scientist would acknowledge that his error bar was much greater than his claim. In fact, he wouldn’t even make the claim.

January 2011 was right at the mean and the median for January temperatures.

With all the worry about global warming and what might happen to the earth if the temperature rises one degree or so, we need to step back and have both sides of the argument present data so we, as a society, can accurately determine if the use of greenhouse gases is actually causing global warming.
Having one side of the argument dominating the rhetoric needs to change because both sides need to be able to present their point of view.
Having clear and accurate information about the truth behind global warming needs to be stated so we, as a society, can make an accurate decision and determine whether we as a society want to go “green” or continue the life that we have.
Although protecting the environment is very important and the environment needs to be protected for future generations, I question whether some extreme techniques in protecting the environment along with combating global warming is worth it until we get information that is not manipulated and both sides agree on the merit of the information.
Having a continuous debate with no clear answer and when one side of the argument is completely shut out in discussions about global warming, I believe we need to step back and analyze the information we have to determine if global warming is natural or caused by greenhouse gases.

So before we buy a great green tax from Flannery, whose real expertise is actually in mammology, it may pay to check his record. Ready?
In 2005, Flannery predicted Sydney’s dams could be dry in as little as two years because global warming was drying up the rains, leaving the city “facing extreme difficulties with water”.
Check Sydney’s dam levels today: 73 per cent. Hmm. Not a good start.
In 2008, Flannery said: “The water problem is so severe for Adelaide that it may run out of water by early 2009.”
Check Adelaide’s water storage levels today: 77 per cent.
In 2007, Flannery predicted cities such as Brisbane would never again have dam-filling rains, as global warming had caused “a 20 per cent decrease in rainfall in some areas” and made the soil too hot, “so even the rain that falls isn’t actually going to fill our dams and river systems … “.
Check the Murray-Darling system today: in flood. Check Brisbane’s dam levels: 100 per cent full.
All this may seem funny, but some politicians, voters and investors have taken this kind of warming alarmism very seriously and made expensive decisions in the belief it was sound.
The world’s leading climate scientists explain that the cold winter in 2011 is due to missing ice in the Arctic. The image above shows the difference between the warm winter of 2006 and the cold winter of 2011. Areas marked in green have more ice than 2006, and areas marked in red have less ice than 2006.
Apparently a thin sliver of missing ice west of Greenland is causing record cold across much of the planet, and making all the Polar Bears starve to death.
