Leading climate experts tell us that global warming causes excess warm wet air in the atmosphere – which leads to lots of cold air, rain, snow and storms – and eventually leads to drought.

I’ve been traveling for the last 33 hours. (Thank you United Airlines.) My flight out of Denver was canceled because of equipment problems, and United took the liberty of canceling my return trip too. So when I showed up at the airport in Lisbon Saturday evening, they didn’t have any reservations for me. I ended up traveling back through Brussels and Washington.
Under the rules of the meeting, I can’t really go into any detail about what was discussed. However, here are a few interesting bits of information.
The key climate science word of the meeting was “ignorance.”
Additional comment from Jerome Ravetz
“Good that you made it home! And very, very good to have you there. I’ve been reflecting on what made the atmosphere so special, so that (nearly) everybody got on so well. I think that we are all ‘marginal’ and therefore reflective, to some degree, so that we don’t assume that the Others are wrong, bad, etc. just because of their opinions. We all need to digest it, to understand how significant it might have been. I’m looking forward to more dialogues, maybe in future with more challenging partners.
And thanks for the Feynman quote!!!!
I’m at Dulles Airport right now, and there appears to be snow up and down the eastern seaboard. The Washington Post explains :
This winter’s extreme weather — with heavy snowfall in some places and unusually low temperatures — is in fact a sign of how climate change disrupts long-standing patterns, according to a new report by the National Wildlife Federation.
It comes at a time when, despite a wealth of scientific evidence, the American public is increasingly skeptical that climate change is happening at all. That disconnect is particularly important this year as the Obama administration and its allies in Congress seek to enact legislation to curb greenhouse gas emissions and revamp the nation’s energy supply.
“It’s very hard for any of us to grasp how this larger warming trend is happening when we’re still having wintry weather,” said National Wildlife Federation climate scientist Amanda Staudt, the new report’s lead writer.

History will show that Republicans and their Astroturf sub-party the Tea Party, both in the pay of the fossil energy industry, actively caused climate collapse, by preventing policies that grow clean energy to prevent it.

Apparently this guy was trying to make a statement about global warming.

Environment: In 2007, the U.N. said the Himalayan glaciers will be gone by 2035 due to man-made global warming. Yet four years later, some are advancing. What’s retreating is the global warming narrative.
Global warming alarmists felt a tingle in their legs when the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a report claiming “Glaciers in the Himalayas are receding faster than in any other part of the world and, if the present rate continues, the likelihood of their disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high if the earth keeps warming at the current rate.”
The announcement was enough to set off celebrations by greenshirts everywhere.
Turns out, though, that the claim was nonsense. It was not based on scientific research but on one scientist’s guesswork, which was lifted from a telephone interview. It was carelessly — or intentionally? — included in the report.
Despite its mistakes and clear political bias, the IPCC survives.
