Physicist With A “Weapons Cache” Hauled Off By Police
He had a rifle, a .22, a 9mm pistol, and a few boxes of ammo.
Morse, 75, is a former Los Alamos National Laboratory physicist who has demonstrated increasing anger at the laboratory, NNSA and various law enforcement agencies in recent years.
Police exercised a search warrant Thursday evening and discovered a 30-06 rifle, a 22 caliber rifle, a 9 mm semi automatic hand gun and more than a thousand rounds of ammunition, including 661 rounds for the 30-06 rifle alone.

“global warming imperils our survival”
The largest problem humanity will face this century is rising global temperatures. Global warming threatens to radically alter modern life across every spectrum. There has thus far been a lack of political will to effectively combat these temperatures.

The Cooling World
April 28, 1975
Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects.

CO2 Is Now A Lethal Poison
Natural gas companies say they can provide a cleaner alternative, because a 1-GW natural-gas power plant would release “only” about 9 billion pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. (Is half a large glass of lethal poison OK, compared with a whole glass?)

Time Magazine : If Three Billion People Stop Eating, Heating Their Homes, Driving To Work and Breathing – We Can Save The Planet
While the challenges are clearly daunting, some scientists complained in the wake of February’s IPCC report that sensationalist media coverage painting an inevitable and apocalyptic picture of climate change paralyzes rather than galvanizes the public. But the unwritten word behind the IPCC’s dire predictions, and its source of hope, is if. If we can limit and later eliminate carbon emissions, if we can make a rapid transition to cleaner energy, if we help poorer nations adapt to the changes underway, then the worst consequences will be averted. But that can only happen if we act globally.

Hansen : European Cold Caused By Open Water In Hudson Bay
Words of wisdom from a climate genius.

The loss of sea ice may also be driving Arctic air into the middle latitudes. Winter weather patterns are notoriously chaotic, and the GISS analysis finds seven of the last 10 European winters warmer than the average from 1951 to 1980. The unusual cold in the past two winters has caused scientists to begin to speculate about a potential connection to sea ice changes.
“One possibility is that the heat source due to open water in Hudson Bay affected Arctic wind patterns, with a seesaw pattern that has Arctic air downstream pouring into Europe,” Hansen said.
